The Holiday Style File

It's party time! All a girl needs are a few pointers, a party dress, and the right attitude.
With fashion, the difference between fabulous and failure is usually just a little more or a little less.
The LBD (little black dress) is back. Not that it EVER went out of style, BUT right NOW it's on EVERY designer and retailer's radar, so the choices and the price points are amazing. If you haven't bought a new one since the Stone Age, this is your decade.

The beauty of the LBD is glamorous simplicity. Don't trod on all that's beautiful about it by pairing it with knee high boots, unless the party's in a swamp.
Go for sexy booties or party heels instead.

Don't show too much skin. Eeek! Some things just look better covered up! A little imagination is usually sexier than the naked truth.
Do choose a color that flatters you. The LBD is synonymous with chic, but chic comes in many colors as long as it's the right color on you.

Don't compete with the Christmas tree. Overdoing the frou frou is the wardrobe equivalent of eating too much cotton candy. It causes a stomach ache.
Do wear one embellishment at a time for maximum effect. Embellishments look chicest on basic colors, like black and white. Bold statement jewelry looks best with simple clothing.

Hold your horses! It's Girls Night Out!

Do show some support! Without it, even a great party can sag. If you want to shake it loose, do it on the dance floor.

|
Don't wear your heart on your sleeve. Desperation is never attractive.
Do be thankful to all those whose fashion disasters you've learned from, and gracious to those who have learned from yours!
