COUNCIL AND NYC WATERSHED FEATURED ON CANADIAN AND EUROPEAN TELEVISION: Council board member and farmer, Tom Hutson (and the eagles that nest on his property off County Route 10, Hamden) were featured in "TEEB: Protecting Nature is Profitable," a 10-minute video released along with the G8's Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB) final report on November 13, 2009 in Brussels. WAC's Communications Director, Tara Collins and DEP assistant commissioner, Kathryn Garcia also explained the roles of upstream landowners and downstream consumers in the City's clean water quest.

Watershed farmers Dave Holley (Walton) and John Hussey (Delhi) along with SUNY-ESF professor Rene Germain were featured in a 20-minute TV segment, which aired on La Semaine Verte on CBC Radio Canada. Both documentaries highlighted the NYC watershed's unique approach of enlisting the help of private landowners to promote and protect clean drinking water.
