Get Fresh with your Local Farmer! Take the Catskills Buy Local Challenge
September is Buy Local Month in the Catskills! Farm Catskills and
the Pure Catskills buy local campaign are teaming up to get our community involved with the Buy
Local Challenge, a pledge to spend $10 weekly on local food.
With so many crops in season and a bounty of events on the calendar, it's a great time to to celebrate our local farms. Search for farms or view our web calendar to learn more about what's happening in the region.
Help us show our community that there's strong support for local agriculture in the Catskills region. .

The Buy Local Challenge
can be found at many upcoming events including:
- 9/5: EcoHeritage Festival, Ashokan Center, Ulster
County
- 9/6: Farm Fair, West Kortright Centre, Delaware
County
- 9/12-13: Harvest Festival, Cooperstown Farmer's Museum, Otsego County
- 9/13: A Taste of Sullivan, Bethel Woods Harvest Festival, Sullivan
County
- 9/20: Earth Day in Autumn, Bethel Woods Harvest Festival, Sullivan County
- 9/26: Cauliflower Festival, Margaretville, Delaware
County
- 9/25-26: Clean Sweep, Delaware County
The month's events will culminate with the screening of the film "Food, Inc." Screening dates include: Each screening will take place at 7 pm. Tickets are $8 each. Seats may be reserved by contacting Liz Searles at (607) 278-5427 or essearles@hughes.net.
