PRESS RELEASE: NY BEEF COOPERATIVE TO SPEAK
AT LOCAL FARMER NETWORKING
Catskills Beef Producers Group To Meet on July 29 in Stamford
WALTON, NY, JULY 17, 2009 -- Beef producers from across the region are invited to attend the next meeting of the Catskills Beef Producers Group.  The meeting will be held on July 29th at Fred's Restaurant at 60 Main Street in Stamford.  The meeting will run from 6:30 pm to approximately 8:30 pm.  Dinner will be available for attendees to order from the restaurant menu.

For the July meeting, a representative of the New York Beef Cooperative will join the group to discuss the experience of forming a beef association.

This meeting will provide an informal opportunity for farmers to discuss shared needs and opportunities. The group picks the discussion topics, style of meeting, when and how often to meet.  Farmers in attendance have the opportunity to meet farmers faced with similar production challenges and make connections to improve profitability. Attending a meeting will be a chance to learn useful ideas from your neighbors.  At past meetings, the group has discussed marketing, production methods, animal health and farm management techniques.

Please RSVP for this event by contacting Challey Comer by phone at (607) 865-7090 or by email at ccomer@nycwatershed.org.
