WALTON, NY - Farms, farmers markets, restaurants, retailers and community organizations connected to buying local farm and food products in Delaware, Greene, Otsego, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster counties are invited to join the Pure Catskills Buy Local Campaign before April 15. Entering its sixth year, Pure Catskills is actively soliciting business members for its annual Pure Catskills Guide to Farm Fresh Products. Benefits of membership include a listing of farm contact information and product descriptions in the printed Pure Catskills Guide, an online listing at purecatskills.com, discounts on Pure Catskills events throughout the year, access to the Pure Catskills logo for use in marketing materials, and point-of-purchase branded materials. Membership fees are still just $25! The 2008 Guide included nearly 200 regional businesses. In May 2009, 30,000 copies of the Pure Catskills Guide will be distributed to hundreds of locations across the region. Members are encouraged to enroll online at purecatskills.com or to contact Challey Comer at (607) 865-7090 or ccomer@nycwatershed.org for materials. QUOTE: "Pure Catskills has grown steadily over the past five years. Last year, 'The Guide' included nearly 200 regional businesses. When people ask why they should join, I point out our program benefits. It's a very cost-effective way to promote your local food-based business or organization."
