A Livestock Clean Water Practice

The Watershed Agricultural Program recently mailed Water Trough Cleaning Guidelines as a summer reminder to livestock owners to keep watering systems clean and clear. Water contaminants like algae and bacteria can make people and animals sick; however, an ounce of prevention goes a long way.
Find It (and Buy It) Locally

The Pure Catskills Buy Local campaigns are in full swing with recently released, updated directories. Catskill WoodNet's Pure Catskills Directory of Manufacturers & Craftspeople in the Catskill Mountains of New York State highlights local producers in the regional wood-products industry. The Pure Catskills Guide to Farm Fresh Products directs consumers to farms and their edible products throughout eight counties, in and outside the watershed region. Both Buy Local guides help you connect with local products and producers throughout the Watershed Region -- an effective way of driving our local economy from the inside out.
Looking Back at 2007
