New Faces at Midtown
Midtown is happy to welcome Charles Adams to its staff as the new supervisor of our "Clean Team." Mr. Adams assumed his duties on Tuesday September 2nd. Mr Adams' responsibilities include providing leadership, direct training, oversight, and evaluation of members of Midtown's Clean Team. Mr. Adams brings to Midtown his fourteen years of experience with the Downtown Partnership as a crew chief. Prior to working at the Downtown Partnership Mr. Adams worked in the landscaping industry Jerome Graham, a senior at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, is our student intern this fall, serving as our Community-Government Liaison. He is currently working on a street sweeping initiative in Mount Vernon, and a community cleaning and greening project in Madison Park. He is completing his studies at UMBC majoring in English, Communications and Technology and was on the Dean's List in 2007-2208. Mr. Graham also owns and operates a business, Supreme Dream Carpet Clean. Our new volunteer coordinator Jovonne Lewis comes on board at the end of September after her training with Volunteer Maryland. Ms. Lewis assumes this AmeriCorps position with the goals of further building the Citizens on Patrol Programs in Bolton Hill, Madison Park and Mount Vernon. She will also be recruiting and managing volunteers for a variety of community greening efforts including the new effort to rejuvenate Maple Leaf Park in Bolton Hill. Ms. Lewis is currently working on a Master's Degree in Public Administration and public policy at the University of Baltimore.

| Fall Spruce-Up Extravaganza
On Saturday, September 13th the Madison Park, Eutaw Place, Spicer's Run and Druid Hill neighborhoods will join together for a day of community cleaning, greening and beautification. Volunteers will assemble at 8:30 am at the Druid Heights Community Development Corporation, 2140 McCulloh Street. Refreshments will be provided to volunteers and food items will be on sale to help raise funds to refurbish the Park at 1920 Madison Avenue. The day will conclude with a concert on Eutaw Place. | A New Public Art Display in Charles North
Station North Arts & Entertainment, Inc. and Shanklin Outdoor Media announce a new public art display in the Station North Arts & Entertainment District. Two 20' x 20' reproductions of original works by area artists are now on public display: "Grand Finale" by Brady Starr and "Station North" by Daniel Stuelpnagel. The large reproductions are mounted side-by-side on the back of the large billboard on the northwest corner of Charles and Lanvale Streets and can be seen by pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists from nearby sidewalks, streets and highways. The works will be on display through this fall; new works will be featured at this location on an ongoing, rotating basis. For additional information visit http://www.stationnorth.org/. .

French Fare Coming to Mount Vernon
904 North Charles Street Marie Louise Bistro is nearing completion and is anticipating a September opening in the former Gampy's Restaurant location. The large interior restaurant space will have 18-fo ot high tin ceilings. Plans also call for additional outdoor seating. The European-style bistro will serve French, Italian, and Mediterranean items. |
State Center Community Meeting Sept. 9 The development team for the State Center Project is holding its next community information meeting on Tuesday, September 9th also from 6:00 to 9:00pm at 201 West Preston Street. The first part of the meetings will discuss the planned Unit development (PUD) process. The second half will focus on the traffic impact study.
