New Geen Team Foreman
|
Midtown is happy to welcome James Wilson to our staff. Mr. Wilson serves as foreman for our "Green Team," the men who maintain 16 acres of parks and green spaces in the District. Mr. Wilson is also training staff of the "Clean Team" to increase their skills and efficiency for clearing weeds and maintaining tree wells. He also is serving as the mentor and supervisor to four teenagers who are assigned to the District through the city's YouthWorks program. (James Wilson (center)is pictured above with YouthWorks members Demetrius Brown (left) and Antwon Hawkins after sprucing up the squares on Park Avenue.) Mr. Wilson is a Baltimore native who resides in South Baltimore. He is a Master Gardner with many years experience in landscaping and grounskeeping, most recently at Fort Meade. He is certified in handling hazardous material. Since joining our staff, James Wilson has implemented a series of training sessions for our park workers and sanitation workers. He is emphasizing safety in the use of power tools and in handling chemicals. He is also enrolling our staff in the "Weed Warrior" training program offered by Baltimore City Department of recreation and Parks. Look for enhanced greening services by the Midtown team as the result of James Wilson's hands-on work and his direction to our parks staff.
