SyracuseCoE Symposium Early Bird Registration ends Friday 9/21
Early bird registration ends Friday September 21st, 2012. The symposium will take place October 10th through October 12th 2012. The 12th annual Symposium on Environmental and Energy Systems organized by SyracuseCoE features the latest results from collaborators across New York State that are developing innovations in clean technologies and processes, including indoor environmental quality, clean and renewable energy, and water resources.
This year's Symposium will feature a kick-off presentation by Bill McKibben( click here for bio) at Hendricks Chapel, keynote speakers, such as Bill Reed, Regenisis, Catherine Tumber author of Small, Gritty, and Green , and Fumitoshi Emura of Hitachi, Ltd, as well as sessions and workshops designed to engage a wide audience, including industry practitioners, state and local officials, and university faculty and students.

Lockheed Martin unveils its Innovate the Future Challenge
Lockheed Martin is inviting interested participants to share their ideas for ways that they can solve important issues facing the global community
Info: Students that are 18 years and older and adults are invited to complete submissions online by September 30, 2012. Submissions received within the entry period will be eligible for cash awards totaling up to US $50,000 and incubation support services. Entries will be vetted by a team of Lockheed Martin employees and at least one third party. There will be up to one $25,000 grand prize recipient, one $10,000 second place recipient and three $5,000 third place recipients who we plan to publicly recognize at the conclusion of this challenge.
Deadline for submissions is September 30th, 2012.

SUNY-ESF Office of Outreach offering FE/PE Exam review classes for engineers
When:October 10- March 5, 2013
Where: PE classes will be held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8pm at ARCADIS, 6723 Towpath Road, Syracuse,NY
FE classes will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm at C&S Companies, 499 Colonel Eileen Collins Blvd., Syracuse, NY
Fee:$485.00 due by first class
Info: The courses include mathematics, statics, thermodynamics; fluid mechanics, machine design, solid waste management, air quality, wastewater, and structural analysis are designed to help engineers prepare for their professional examinations, either the first exam, Fundamentals of Engineering, or the second exam, Professional Engineering.

NEXT 2012 Conference
NEXT is an exciting new technology and innovation conference for businesses of all kinds, from manufacturers to high-tech companies and defense contractors, academic and industry researchers, and entrepreneurs at all stages. Participants come together to explore the latest trends in business practices and learn about cutting edge technological advances.
This launch event will feature keynote speakers Robert Tucker and Jeremy Rifkin, international thought leaders in business and science. In addition, the program will be filled with hour-long interactive workshops where attendees examine state-of-the-art tools to improve business and job performance in a setting where fast-track companies meet and learn from regional business leaders, outside industry experts and resource organizations. SyracuseCoE Hosts Advanced Building Track at Advanced Energy 2012 in NYC
SyracuseCoE will host an Advanced Building track at the Advanced Energy 2012 conference in NYC on October 30th and 31st. Speakers include USGBC President, CEO and Founding Chair - and SyracuseCoE Advisory Board member - Rick Fedrizzi, who will participate in a panel discussion on "The Retrofit Revolution: Energy efficiency & occupant well-being."
Advanced Energy 2012, New York State's largest advanced energy event, is expected to attract thousands of participants from industry, government and academia, along with innovators and leaders from every area of energy research. An exciting line-up of invited speakers will be in attendance.
