New York Regional Energy Innovation Cluster Featured in Site Selection Energy Report

The Site Selection Energy Report features a report on the New York Energy Regional Innovation Cluster (NYE-RIC), a statewide alliance that is focused on transforming how energy-efficient building systems are invented, developed, demonstrated and deployed. NYE-RIC includes internationally recognized research and development capabilities and engages more than 130 firms and institutions that have unmatched expertise to speed development and deployment of game-changing innovations by breaking down critical barriers in economics, policy, human behavior and technology integration. CenterState CEO Names Economic Champions, Expands Business Competition, Offers Greenbuild Scholarships

CenterState Corportaion for Economic Opportunity (CenterState CEO) recently announced the following green and clean tech news:
  • It has recognized 168 Economic Champions, with SyracuseCoE; Platinum Partners National Grid, Otis, and SUNY Upstate Medical University; Gold Partners C&S Companies, King + King Architects, and SRC; and Silver Partner Air Innovations among those recognized.
  • The New York's Creative Core Emerging Business Competition has grown to $250,000, with the addition of a $50,000 second place prize. The competition is the largest, privately funded cash prize of its kind in the nation. Next deadline: Jan. 21, 2011.
  • New York's Creative Core will provide scholarships for businesses in its 12-county region to send employees to Greenbuild 2010, Nov. 17-19 in Chicago. Write to Mike Novakowski for more information.

SyracuseCoE Board Member to Offer LEED201: Core Concepts and Strategies Seminar, Nov. 1

SyracuseCoE Board Member Kevin Stack of Charter Member Northeast Green Building Consulting will teach "LEED201: Core Concepts and Strategies" Nov. 1 on SUNY Buffalo's North Campus. The seminar, hosted by the US Green Build Council New York Upstate Chapter will focus on providing essential knowledge of sustainable building concepts fundamental to LEED rating systems. SURE Presents Renewable Technologies and Carbon Cycling, Nov 3-4

SyracuseCoE Platinum Partner SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry will host a Sustainable Use of Renewable Energy (SURE) program Nov. 3 and 4. The two-day session will focus on effects of carbon emissions and renewable energy technologies. O'Brien & Gere Experts Present at Vapor Instrusion Conference

SyracuseCoE Platinum Partner O'Brien & Gere recently co-sponsored the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) Vapor Intrusion 2010 Conference in Chicago. Tate Introduces In-Floor Cooling Systems for Data Centers
SyracuseCoE Platinum Partner Tate has introduced three new in-floor cooling solutions for data centers. Introduced at the Data Center World trade show in Las Vegas, the new devices include the DirectAire airflow panel, SmartAire variable-air-volume (VAV) damper, and PowerAire fan-assist module. Dr. Benjamin Hanoune, of the Laboratory of Combustion and Atmospheric Processes, University of Lille, France, will lecture on "Depollution of Indoor Air by Plants: The PHYTAIR Research Program" Monday, Oct. 25 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at 369 Link Hall on SyracuseCoE Platinum Partner Syracuse University (SU) campus. Taitem's Shapiro to Teach Managing Energy Projects Seminar at TC3, Nov. 15-19
Ian Shapiro, of SyracuseCoE Patron Taitem Engineering, will teach a "Managing Energy Projects" seminar at Tompkins-Cortland Community College (TC3) in Ithaca, NY from Nov. 15 to 19. The Advanced Energy Center of Stony Brook University will hold its fourth annual conference for the first time in New York City--at the New York Hilton--on November 8 and 9.
