O'Brien & Gere to Support Development of Tissue Facility

SyracuseCoE Platinum Partner O'Brien & Gere has entered into an agreement with Empire Tissue Company to support the siting, financing, engineering, and construction of a recycled tissue paper manufacturing facility in the village of Solvay, NY. The planned $125M facility will produce recycled tissue, towel, and napkin "parent rolls" for the industrial tissue market. Production capacity will be 70,000 metric tons per year. This product will be the feedstock required by converters processing these rolls into industrial-, commercial-, and retail-sized products required by janitorial service providers, factories, schools, office buildings, and restaurants. The facility will play a vital role in the re-development of a brownfield site in Solvay and create 82 manufacturing jobs and 300 construction jobs. For the full story, click here.
