Tieton Wild Washington Apple, a handcraft hard cider that's not just apple-focused on the tongue, there's notes of pineapple, caramel, and woody oak. 6.9% ABV
Howe Sound Total Eclipse of the Hop, an imperialized English-style India pale ale brewed with extra barley malts to balance the six hop varieties in the beer. Limited release, part of the John Mitchell Series. Available in 1-litre swing-top bottles. 8.5% ABV, 90 IBU
Dogfish Head Squall IPA, an unfiltered, unfettered and unprecedented version of 90 Minute India pale ale in wine-size bottles. This is 90 Min bottle conditioned naturally, the way beer used to be brewed in early America. It's like cask beer...only in a bottle. Dry-hopped with Palisade, Amarillo, Simcoe, Cascade, CTZ and Willamette hops. A rarity; 1 bottle per household while it lasts. Learn more about this beer. 9% ABV
Dogfish Head World Wide Stout, a very dark beer brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley creating a massive, creamy malt-bomb of an imperial stout. This beer cellars incredibly well; if you have patience you'll enjoy it's smoother, silkier luxurious body in just 4 years. Limited winter release, with a daily limit of 4 bottles per household to help share the beer love. 372 calories, not for the calorie-counting beer drinker. 15% ABV
Dogfish Head Miles Davis's Bitches Brew, arrived Monday morning, sold out on Tuesday morning -- sorry if you missed this, folks! Discover rare beer arrivals by watching 99 Bottles on facebook or following Tweets from @99BottlesBeer.

Dogfish Head Chicory Stout, a rich, dark brew smoothed out with a touch of roasted chicory (yes, chicory, the roadside weed that's included in fancy salad mix!) and organic Mexican coffee. Dogfish calls this winter release "goodness beneath a bone-white head." I call it creamy roasty coffee with notes of bittersweet chocolate, molasses and smoky charcoal. 5.2% ABV

Finnriver Appleblueberry, a handcraft cider from the Olympic Peninsula is a joyous expression of sparkling apples and ripe blueberries on the tongue. Of ripe Autumn blueberries, Finnriver says, "We chose to bottle these berries so that you can taste the sweetess of our fields throughout the year." Limited rotating release. 8% ABV
Finnriver Farmstead Sparkling Cider begins with the spring blossoms in the apple orchard, where the fruit ripens under the Northwest sun until harvest time in the fall. The apples are then pressed and cider is made using the old-world methode ancestrale, with a blend of bittersweet and dessert apples. Now in individual serving size! 8% ABV
Finnriver Artisanal Sparkling Cider, an incredibly effervescent apple bouquet, is tart, drying, and clean like a fine champagne-style should be. This was my pick for Thanksgiving dinner; it paired with everything from hors d'ouvres to turkey, all the fixin's and pumpkin pie. A great choice for upcoming Christmas & New Year's Eve celebrations. 8% ABV
Southern Tier Un*Earthly, an uninhibited infusion of hops and a not-to-be-messed with ABV of 11%. An incredibly assertive waft of hops waft from your glass -- Chinooks, Cascades, Styrian Goldings, and Centennials.
Meantime IPA is imported from the birthplace of the India pale ale -- England. This beer's a great example of a traditional English-brewed IPA, where the style was originally brewed big & hoppy for the sole intent of withstanding long and hot travels to India, back in the day of the ever-expanding 19th Century English Empire. Hopped with Fuggles and Goldings. 7.5% ABV

Boulder Killer Penguin's the label warns if you're looking for a traditional warm and comforting seasonal, this beer is not for you. It's a deep ruby colored killer barleywine with an aggressive full-flavor and notes of candied fruit. Limited availability; 2 bottle limit. Wax-dipped crown with wood-chipped date, ready for cellaring. 10% ABV
Eel River Climax Noel, a dry-hopped imperial red ale that makes your tastebuds sit up and take notice. It's rich, creamy, boozy and doughy; packed full of sweet caramel malts followed by a bitter piney-floral finish. This year's winter release is 10% ABV.
Hales Aftermath IPA, a brewer's choice from the Ballard-area Seattle brewery is euphoric to most hop heads. This beer is a big punch of citrus and pine hops, with notes of grapefruit pith, mango and pear on caramelly malts. 8.4% ABV
La Trappe Tripel, one of my favorite Belgian-style Tripels, this one comes to us from the only Trappist-designated monastary in The Netherlands. You might recognize it by the name "Koningshoeven"; La Trappe is finally able to use its original name again on labels entering the USA. This ale has delicate malts, with sweet-yet-lightly-tart notes of peach, apricot, melon and tropicals, plus a dry finish. 8% ABV
Barbar Winter Bok, a Belgian-inspired version of the German-style Bock that's been spiced with honey, coriander and orange peel. A smooth, silky beer with flavors of roasty caramel, dried dark fruit notes, sweet honey and a lightly spicy finish. 8% ABV

Southern Tier Old Man Winter is the perfect stocking-stuffer beer for the "Old Man" in your life, especially if he's a crotchety one! ;-) On a more serious note, this beer will stave-off Old Man Winter's chill with its rich flavors of figgy plums, caramel-covered nuts, vanilla, and a big hoppy, woody, earthy presence. Bittersweet finish. Winter release. 8% ABV
Southern Tier 2XIPA, declared by Phin DeMink to be "the best beer ever brewed" by New York's Southern Tier Brewing, and is considered to be "not quite an imperial, but certainly not a standard India pale ale" with a big citrus hop and a clean, incredible finish. 8.3% ABV
Saint Landelin Traditional French Holiday Ale is a heckuva deal at just $5 for a corked-n-caged wine-size bottle. Sweet brown sugar and caramel malts meet cidery notes in this Christmas-spiced ale. Biere de Garde fans, this is a great winter option for you. 6.8% ABV
Iron Horse Cozy Sweater -- If milk stout were a sweater this'd be my favorite to wear all winter long. Like the other dark ales (Quilter's Irish Death, Mocha Death) from this Ellensburg brewery, it's got a lighter body than other stouts, making it extremely drinkable. And the sweet cocoa flavor of Cozy Sweater is just what I yearn for this time of year.
Liefmans Fruitesse, an ale matured on cherries, with natural fruit flavors of cherry, raspberry, billberry (a relative of the American blueberry), elderberry and strawberry. 4.2% ABV, champagne-style bottle
Liefmans Goudenband, said to be one of the world's most complex beers, this aged Belgian brown ale is cellared for many months and is then blended and bottled. Historically known as "Provision Beer," Goudenband can be cellared for many years, allowing the taste, aroma and body of the beer to evolve and mellow. Beer connoisseurs consider this ale to be a real treat. 8% ABV
Liefmans Cuvee Brut is brewed only once a year in July. Hand-selected fresh picked cherries are blended in and the young beer is allowed to age in the brewery's cellar. After maturing for 18 months to three years, different vintages are carefully tasted and blended to create a complex, deep-red ale with refreshing, balanced tart-sweet taste, strong cherry notes and sparkling carbonation. 6% ABV

Malheur Brut Reserve, a true champagne beer brewed in the champagne method with champagne yeast. This blonde ale is refined and bubbly, with notes of honey-caramel, pear and vanilla. 11% ABV
Malheur Dark Brut, another true champagne beer, this one is a dark ale with notes of hazelnut, cocoa, raisin, plum, honey and spice. A delicious beer fit for any celebration. Pop the cork on a champagne beer this New Year's Eve. 12% ABV
The Bruery Three French Hens is the third in the annual-release Twelve Days of Christmas series, can be enjoyed now or year-after-year from your cellar (stock up now on this release; it won't be around for long). This blended ale is 75% Belgian-style dark ale and 25% Ale aged in French Oak Barrels, creating vinous oaky notes with a bold spicy dark presence. 10% ABV
Allagash Interlude 2010 is a wonderfully complex ale that's been aged in red wine barrels with brettanomyces. The flavor starts out sweet-tart similar to wine, with hints of oak, fruity notes and earthy hops. Pick up a bottle of both the 2009 and 2010 vintages for a vertical tasting with friends. Limited release in the "Serie d'Origine" series from Allgash Brewing of Maine. 9.5% ABV
Stone Lukcy 13asatrd, a self-tribute to 13 years of arrogance. This is the most balanced of the bastard ales, truly the "Cuvee de Bastard." It's fresh, yet abrasive with a creamy spicy sweet malt, full body and big hop presence. Stone Brewing says this is a 50/50 blend of Arrogant Bastard Ale and Double Bastard Ale, that's oak aged and double-dry hopped. And I have to say, it's my favorite of the bastard beers. Limited release. 8.5% ABV
