photo by welosiped, from Flickr | The Beers of Spring As the weather warms we find ourselves outdoors more doing activities that require refreshment...and springtime beers are all about refreshment! One of my favorite styles for springtime is the Saison ale. Originally brewed for Belgian farmworkers, these beers are the
perfect thirst quencher for a warm spring or summer afternoon.
Haven't yet tried a saison? Join us on April's 1st Tuesday...to learn and taste!

New & Returning Beers
Boundary Bay IPA from Bellingham, Wash. Hopefully this will last longer than 4 days! Spicy orange, grapefruit, and pine hops balance a sweet and hearty malt body. Notes of pear, honey, and alcohol. Voted most drinkable IPA by NW Brewing News readers a few years back. 6.4% ABV
Dogfish Head ApriHop from Delaware is a spring fruit beer for hop heads. Juicy apricots meet hops; balanced with malts for a creamy mouth-feel. 7% ABV
Dogfish Head Burton Baton from Delaware is a spring release that's never around long enough, in my opinion. Oh Burton Baton, how I love thee! A blend of Imperial IPA aged in oak for four months and 90-Minute IPA. Bready/doughy malts, spicy-citrus herbal hop bite, and fruits. Spicy alcohol with an oaky finish. 10% ABV
Elysian Cyclops from Seattle, Wash. is a smooth, balanced barleywine with an aroma and flavor of malty toffee, with notes of fruit and an herbal hop bite. Winter release. Excellent on BeerAdvocate. 9.5% ABV
Great Divide Barrel-Aged Yeti is very limited as we only have 3 bottles for sale. First come, first serve. No holds. SORRY, SOLD OUT ON 4/1. Become a facebook fan or follow us on twitter to hear first about these extremely limited releases.
Great Divide Colette from Colorado. Farmhouse ales have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. This saison is brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, giving it a fruity and slightly tart palate, with a dry finish. Tangy, with flavors of zesty Kaffir lime and lemongrass, spicy peppery cloves, and notes of banana and candied orange. Dry, yeasty finish. 7.3% ABV
Great Divide Espresso Yeti is another limited spring release from Colorado. Infused with Denver's own Pablo's espresso. Intense roasty malts, bold hops, espresso, and vanilla oak. Outstanding on BeerAdvocate. Pair it with a breakfast burrito, eggs Benedict, hash browns, cheesecake, or créme brulée. 9% ABV
Jerome Golden Archangel from Argentina is a rich and satisfying Belgian-style ale with a deep golden color. Aged 12
months. It's the Jerome we've been waiting for!! 9% ABV
Mythos Red from Greece is not your typical lager. It's full of biscuity, caramelly, and nutty goodness. 5.5% ABV
Any new & returning beers arriving on Friday, April 2nd will be tweeted, put on facebook, and listed in next week's edition of The Weekly Brews.
