Meet & taste with the brewers! Yakima Craft Brewing is at 99 Bottles this Saturday
The Yakima Valley, which is known for growing around 75% of America's hops, is where you'll find Yakima Craft Brewing Co. But you don't have to make a trip across the mountains to drink their good beers or meet the brewers.

Come to 99 Bottles this Saturday, March 6th to try the beers & meet brewers Jeff & Chris. We'll be pouring from 2:00 'til 5:00 p.m. $2.50 per person to sample 5 YCBC beers*
YCBC gained inspiration from Bert Grant, who founded Bert Grant's Real Ales in 1982 in Yakima's Opera House.
Though Bert & his brewery are no longer with us, Jeff & Chris use Bert's original boil kettle for brewing their beers. This all-copper
kettle gives them the ability to caramelize sugars, adds some
nutrients for the yeast, and carry on Bert's legacy through their beer.
Yakima Craft is a small brewery, just 3-1/2 BBL--tiny by commercial standards. Their beers are not filtered or pasteurized and are a food that's best enjoyed fresh and local. Their limited seasonal releases are currently available and include the Stout, Good Monkey, and Bad Monkey. 99 Bottles also has their regular line-up of 1982, Amber, Pale Ale, IPA, and Twin Stag Stout.
*Must be 21+ years, with valid ID, to sample beer. 99 Bottles Club member price $1. At 99 Bottles's grab-bag tastings, we start with a wide selection of beers, some are limited in the number of bottles we have to pour. Come early in the event for widest selection. We'll start with all eight beers available for sampling, and you get to choose the five you'd like to try while visiting with the brewers. New & returning brews
Deschutes Jubel 2010 - RETURNING Deschutes Brewery's once-a-decade ale. Jubel 2010 is
a deeply dynamic presentation of the flavors found in their festive winter
seasonal, Jubelale.
Available on tap around the holidays at Deschutes pubs
as Super Jubel, February 2010 marks only the second time they've ever bottled
this immortal libation. As some of you may remember, the first and only other
time this special brew was bottled was to celebrate the new millennium as Jubel
2000.
The internally dubbed "Super Jubel" was discovered by accident two
decades ago when a clumsy burglar didn't realize the weight of his stolen keg of
Jubelale. He dropped it outside to freeze in the season's sub-zero temperatures
-- only to be discovered the next morning by Gary Fish, Deschutes Brewery's
owner. More than half the liquid in the keg had frozen and the remaining beer
was a very cold, highly concentrated "Jubelale on steroids." It was so good that
the brewers set about recreating it (minus the freezing part) coming up with an
annual "Super Jubel" that is aged in Oregon oak pinot barrels. Jubel 2010 is limited to stock on hand, with an increased limit of 4 bottles per person, while it lasts. 22oz bottle.
Full Sail Imperial Stout
The Full Sail brewers have been busy spending the dark days of winter brewing
the latest beer in their Brewmaster Reserve series, Imperial Stout. Full Sail
Imperial Stout is a hearty brew, black as night with a strong roasted malt
character and full body. The chocolate and caramel nuances from the malt blend
with the hops for a wonderfully smooth Imperial Stout. 8% ABV, 65 IBUs, 22oz bottles. Limited release. 99 Bottles says, "Brewmaster Series. Strong roasty malts with notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, and caramel. Hints of dark fruit and coffee. Smooth, silky, and full-bodied."
Full Sail Slipknot Imperial IPA Full Sail kicked off their 2010 Brewmaster Reserve line-up with the delightfully hoppy Slipknot Imperial IPA. This annual favorite and World Beer Championship gold
medal winner amplifies the typical American IPA -- from the up-front hop aroma and
bitterness to the big malt body. 99 Bottles says, "Juicy tropical fruit, earthy spices, and citrus zest on caramel malts. Resinous hops. Medium body." 7.8% ABV, 80 IBUs, 22oz bottle.
Weihenstephan Korbinian - RETURNING It's back at 99 Bottles! With a malty aroma and great taste, Korbinian is a true beer speciality from one of the world's oldest breweries (Weihenstephan dates back to 1040). The beer goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl. 99 Bottles says, "Strong and decadent. Rich caramel malts with hints of smoke. Strong sweet finish." 96% on RateBeer; Excellent on BeerAdvocate. 7.4% ABV, 16.9oz bottle
Fair Winds Fireweed Mead
Established in 1993 by two retired Coast Guard couples, Fair Winds Winery was first opened its Port Townsend tasting room in 1996. Fireweed Mead is the newest addition to their selection, and their only offering carried by 99 Bottles. The mead won a bronze medal at the Northwest Wine Summit and was sought out by 99 Bottles to be part of our regular mead offerings based on requests by customers who've sampled the delicate mead. For those of you not yet familiar with mead, these are fermented honey products that are similar to wine but are judged under the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP). For information about what to expect when drinking mead, read the BJCP Mead Style Guidelines.
