Old Schoolhouse BreweryLocated Washington's Methow Valley is a little town called Winthrop--and it's where you'll find an adorable family owned & operated restaurant/brewery called Old Schoolhouse. Previously you had to take a long drive to visit the Old Schoolhouse for their beers, but now you can stop by 99 Bottles! Check out their beers...

Ruud Awakening IPA awakens the tastebuds by starting with brutally bitter hops, followed by a mild citrus aftertaste. 7.2% ABV

Deschutes Jubel 2010 just arrived
Jubel 2010Limit 2 bottles per person, while supplies last...no holds. Jubel 2010 is the latest limited-release in the Deschutes Reserve Series, and it's been aging in Oregon Pinot barrels for over 13 months. The brewery says, "This 'Super Jubel' was discovered by accident two decades ago when a clumsy burglar didn't realize the weight of his stolen keg of Jubelale. He dropped it outside to freeze in the season's sub-zero temperatures -- only to be discovered the next morning by Gary Fish, Deschutes Brewery owner. More than half the liquid in the keg had frozen and the remaining beer was a very cold, highly concentrated 'Jubelale on steroids.' It was so good that the brewers set about recreating it, coming up with an annual 'Super Jubel' that is aged in oak barrels. A limited amount has been available on tap every year, 2010 will be only the second time that the brewery has bottled up this brew for sale. The first time it was available by bottle was a special millennium edition in 2000." Outstanding on BeerAdvocate. 11% ABV

Russian RiverSought-after Russian River ales
Pliny the Elder fans...it's baaaaack! The sought-after imperial IPA has finally returned to 99 Bottles. Limit 4 bottles per person, while supplies last. Also returning is Damnation Belgian-style Strong Golden Ale, which has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth-filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. Damnation's ingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth. And new to Washington state is Russian River Supplication, a brown ale aged in Pinot Noir wine barrels for one year with sour cherries, Brettanomyces yeast, and Lactobacillus & Pedicoccus bacteria. Yum! Supplication scores 100% on RateBeer and Outstanding on BeerAdvocate.

Widmer releases imperial IPA
Widmer Deadlift IPAThe Widmer brothers have been making some seriously interesting beers. Check out their newest beer, Deadlift IPA. This Imperial IPA uses the intensely citrus, fruity, and berry-like smelling Nelson Sauvin hop strain, which is imported from New Zealand. Seattle Beer News reports, "The alcohol presence is evident, and at 8.6% ABV, drinking an entire 4-pack probably is not in your best interest. Overall, this is a solid, well-crafted addition to the Widmer year-round lineup, and I wouldn't hesitate to grab a bottle or glass of this occasionally." Beervana blogger, Jeff Allsworth, says of Deadlift: "The beer's not super strong, but a lot of volatile alcohol vents from the beer, too, lifting those aroma compounds, almost like wasabi. On the tongue, that Nelson-ness isn't so pronounced. The flavor they describe as berry I might call spruce, too. As the glass warms, the bitterness fades back a bit more and it almost gets too sweet--though the alcohol just keeps it in balance."

Hard ciders from the Basque region of Spain
Cider making in the Basque region dates back to the 11th and 12th Century, and now you have the opportunity to  drink these traditional hard apple ciders. Isastegi Sagardo Naturala 2008 is made from a blend of over a dozen native varietal apples, which are fermented in kupelas (old large oak cider barrels) and is then bottled in an unfiltered state. Bereziartua Natural Apple Cider is unfiltered and slightly effervescent, with aromas of peach and orange blossom, tart apple flavor with a mineral finish. It takes about five months for Bereziartua to ferment in its kupelas.

De Dolle Stout makes an appearance at 99 Bottles
De Dolle StoutNew to 99 Bottles from De Dolles Brouwers of Belgium is the Special Extra Export Stout. Tagged as a "special order" most of you realize this means its presence is limited, having just 20 bottles available at the store. De Dolles brewery building itself is rich in history, dating to 1835 AD and it was once it was both brewery and distillery. They say of their stout, "Stout is an old-fashioned beer, but still popular in English speaking countries. Upon request by the American importer, we brew Stout a couple of times a year, with roasted malt, caramel malt and pale malt, Nugget hops and the same fermentation as Oerbier. The combination of all that is a bitter, tart beer, with character. It could have been drunk in England or Ireland some 200 years ago. Cheers!" BeerAdvocate reviewers give it a "B+" and the stout is a whopping 9% ABV.
