Tips List # 56........
You can survive and thrive through these slowing economic times!
|
it's ...June
Last month I spoke at the ART Conference in Naples Florida. What an amazing organization. I met great retailers, suppliers, manufactures, industry representatives, and other speakers from all over North America. If you ever get a chance to go, take it. You'll be very glad you did.
What I know for sure, and wanted to share with you this month, is that there is no easy fix to increasing sales and keeping your business thriving through these slowing economic times. No magic bullet.
Surviving and thriving is doable and possible. You need to be more proactive. Making the door to your store open, not just waiting for it to happen. Are you ready to do the work? You need a detailed list of action points that, together, shift your business potential. You need a financial review that focuses on your spending on products and a detailed look at your operating costs.
Also; a review of your inventory to get rid of stock that is choking your business. Adding products that are relevant to your customers and how they live their lives. Committing to having the best pricing on products in your market place. You need to train your staff how to effect sales and deliver the best customer service.
Keep your eye on these three things:
- Increasing how many times existing customers come into your store. Once a month is your new target. What are you doing to make that happen?
- Attracting new customers to your store. What is your plan to make that happen?
- Last idea I want to share with you. What is your add on sales program. Do you know how to figure that out?
There
are many effective ways to keep your business from going under. Are you
up for the work it will take to save your retail store?
