There are only 9 days left to really reeve up sales. Here are a few tips:
- Make sure your signage information is clear and that you have enough signs through out the store.
- Pricing; reduce all slow moving product to 20% off. You may want to consider the whole store at 20% at this time; it will stimulate sales, I promise you. Better to sell at this time for that discount then have to sell at 50% or more after Xmas. You'll make more money thinking this way.
- Start each day by sharing the daily sales target with your staff. Make sure your staff know what's on promo. An informed staff is an effective staff.
- Sales training for your staff is on going even during this busy time. Be an example show them how it's done. Plan to be on the sales floor more often over the next week or so.
- Add on Sales. Can't stress this enough. Make sure staff is thinking and on their toes. Customers appreciate leaving your store with everything they need. Do some role playing with your staff. Pick a product and ask them " what other product could you show the customer as an add on sale if the were buying this item".
- More about add on sales. More customers then not will buy products that are shown to them with great enthusiasm. Make sure each customers is shown and asked if they would like to buy one more thing before they leave your store. You pick what item. Change it up each day.
