Using Gift Cards At Xmas...
- Display gift cards all around your store - remember they have no value until you load them at the cash counter. So display them through out the store.
- At this time of the year use gift cards as a thank you to your best customers. Load a card up with even $10 dollars and say thank you for shopping in my store. You to invest in your relationship with your best customers
- Add on sales - make sure you train your staff to talk about your gift cards to each customer as they cash out. You will be surprised how many you can sell just doing this.
- Note that gift cards will shift your sales. As you don't record them until the card is used. Retailers who sell lots of gift cards see a dramatic shift in their business in January which is usually a slow month.
- Statistics show that people traditional spend more then the face value of the card. Now that's a good thing.
- If you don't have a gift card program there is still time to have one in your store before Xmas.
- Gift Cards - Not only for Xmas but a good year round strategy for all retailers .
