FOUR AREAS OF PREPARATION
I. Spiritual Preparation
A. Study Scriptures: The Word is the foundation of all preparation! We have practical scriptures and prophetic scriptures that tell us what will happen in the future.
B. Prayer: Without a place of prayer and intimacy we will have fear and confusion. Perfect love casts out all fear. We need Abba's love to keep the fear away.
C. Worship: Worshipping, singing and praying the Scriptures is important. I believe that everyone needs to be involved in a 24/7 prayer/worship house. TOD, IHOP or whatever you want to call it.
D. Fasting: Fasting is not an option. We need individual fasting as well as corporate fasting.
E. Small group involvement with like minded people. We need to be in very close koinonia with those that are preparing.
F. Try to get other believers and congregations up to speed by praying for them and sharing with them.
G. Wisdom and Love! Above all else we need love and we need God's Wisdom. Every place is different. The wisdom in one city or nation will be different than another.
II. Emotional Preparation
A. The very thought of the Last Days strikes fear into peoples hearts. Fear is a stronghold of the enemy.
B. Luke 21:25 "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
C. We have to embrace all the emotions of the days ahead-in a sense intercede them through. Daniel is a picture of it when he saw the antichrist. He fainted and was sick for many days. Dan. 8:23-27.
D. We need to openly confess and talk about our feelings with each other and pray for each other.
III. Relational Preparation
A. We need to be involved in congregations that embrace the reality of the times and seasons.
B. We need to develop small group and family oriented meetings to seek the Lord, study the Word, pray for each other and discover local strategeies.
C. We need to be involved in our community and neighborhoods.
D. We need to reach out to others through apocalyptic evangelism. (sharing the prophetic Scriptures that speak of the second coming)
E. We need to work through group ethics in dealing with things like food, water, protection. I.E. will we defend ourselves our wives our children? Will we use physical violence to protect? Will we use guns? Will we keep food for our kids and let them starve or will we walk in love and give it all away to the neighborhood. These are tough ethical issues. We have to have a level of agreement among our small group.
IV. Practical Preparation
A. Geographic-we have to be in God's will and be in the right geographic area: nation, state, city and neighborhood. Do not just assume that where you live now is where you are to be. We need to assess the risk factor of our location. For instance-living next to a nuclear reactor or a missle base or an a fault line.
B. Water-this is absolutely necessary to have a water source and filter systems that do not rely on electricity or the local municipal supply. You can only go 3 days without water and people will go crazy as the move into 3 to 4 days with no water. They will kill for a drink. We need alternative water sources as well.
C. Food-We can only go 40 days without food. But a forced fast on small children is very difficult. We need to have food sources and the ability to grow our own food and have seeds that are not hybreds so that we can reproduce our food sources.
D. Protection-secret hiding places, strong rooms in homes. C TenBoom the Hiding place.
E. Asset protection-gold, silver and even seeds can be great asset protection. We need to get out of stocks bonds, currencies and ira's etc that will become worthless or almost worthless. I was encouraging gold and silver back in 2001 when gold was around 240 an ounce and silver was 6. Now gold is over 1600 and silver 33. I personally believe it will continue to climb.
F. Bug out plan-we need plan b and plan c with ditch bags etc. to be able to flee in an emergency.
G. Fishing supplies and weapons for hunting. We need to develop our hunting and gathering skills. A great movie I saw was "Defiance" about Jews escaping to the woods and living there during WWII.
H. We need to develop skills with map and compass reading.
I. Alternative power-solar, wind, hydro etc.
J. Communications: solar charged radios for news, local walkie talkies for close range and Ham and Marine Band radios for long range communications.
I am sure there is allot more on these points. We need to come together and seek the Lord for wisdom.
