Highway 19
Isaiah 19

HIGHWAY 19 MESSAGE FROM JERUSALEM

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

These are notes I took from Steve Carpenter's teaching the other day at Sukkot Halal here in Jerusalem.

Anyway, I feel strongly to exhort all of you into carefully studying these scriptures out before the Lord and entering into the timeliness of the Word.

It is absolutely essential that we have a posture of humility in the activity of worship and intercession.  Even in you studying these scriptures, if you do not "take your shoes off" and put off your own knowledge and your own callings, purposes, destinies, and stand on the "holy ground" of the Presence and Sovereignty of God whose ways are higher than ours and whose thoughts are higher, you will only become more puffed up and hard of heart.

These are great days!  Great and terrible.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and we need to get more wisdom than just the "beginning of wisdom" to get through these times so we definitely need to increase in our fear of the Lord more and more!  This is no joke, we're not on the playground any more Opie.  We are on the battlefield now.  We're way past highschool and Bible College!

The enemy always wants us to fight on the horizontal against flesh and blood.  His strategy is divide and conquer.  Even the enemies of the Lord will be destroyed this way.  They will turn on themselves in the great battle.  The Lord wants us to look up!  He wants us to "take heed to ourselves lest we also fall"  That means that He doesn't want us criticizing others or reacting to lukewarmness or any of that stuff.  He is the only One that can win the battle we now find ourselves engaged in.  He is the One that takes Jericho.  Our posture needs to be humility and the fear of the Lord.  His strategies are above earthly battles, hence marching around Jericho!  Amazing!

We have to guard against inserting ourselves into the picture.  If people hear us and only see what we are doing then we have failed.  We must keep ourselves out of the picture and lift up His Sovereign plan from the foundation of the earth.  The temptation is always to point the finger at others sin or indifference and call attention to our own righteousness and zeal thinking that we do God a favor.  The end result is not that they see God, but only an inflated us!  God doesn't need our help and isn't into giving us notches in our belt. It's about Him and Him only, always has and always will be!
Hope you enjoy!  And, I pray for you mighty men of God that you would be so sharpened by the Word and relationships with each other that you could sling your stones and your aim be perfect and that you be of such character that even with all that strength and skill from Our Divine Lord you are able to be restrained in the cave of Adullam from taking Saul's life when it is not in the will of God to bring his end by that means.  May all your means be submitted to the Sovereign Lord of Glory that His Glorious End would be achieved unto Him be all the honor, glory, power, and dominion forever and ever, Amen!

Isaiah 19-Building project of the highway

Intention-regional reconciliation among these nations, among the sons of Abraham
Infrastructure-rebuilding of the tabernacle of David
Impact-release a blessing in the whole earth
*This is a very Big Deal!!!!
Look at the last 3 verses of Is 19:3 The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, and they will consult the idols and the charmers, the mediums and the sorcerers.

In that day Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, whom the Lord of hosts has blessed, saying, "Blessed is the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance."

Is 19:18 In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear by the LORD of hosts; one will be called the City of Destruction.[d]
19 In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD at its border. 20 And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them. 21 Then the LORD will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the LORD and perform it. 22 And the LORD will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the LORD, and He will be entreated by them and heal them.
23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians.
24 In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria-a blessing in the midst of the land, 25 whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, "Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance."

Each region has a very specific calling and purpose.  Each one is unique.  Today we will focus on "Israel My inheritance."  In order to understand this we must understand God's choosing.
One of the master keys that will unlock revelation into God's purposes for the Middle East is acknowledgement and acceptance of God's sovereign choice.  Acceptance of God's sovereign choice is essential!

In Gen 17 Abraham cried out to the Lord "Oh that Ismael might live before Thee!"  But, God said, "No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac, and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.
We cannot look at things in the Middle East with our own natural understanding or desires.  God has made His sovereign choice.  We must understand this!

Is 46:9-13 Only God can declare a thing from the beginning having already seen its end
The book of Job is not about a sick guy whose friends prayed for his healing.  It is about Job's revelation of the sovereignty of God.
How do we approach a region that is contrasted by such opposing religious and political situations.   How do we be a part of aligning ourselves to God's purposes in the midst of that?

3 scriptures tell us how--through 2 men in history: Joshua and Jacob

Joshua 5

Joshua was called to bring a new generation into prophetic promises God had promised
Vs 13 Joshua was focused to bring children of Israel in.  He knew what his job was, to go in and dispossess nations mightier, to move into the prophetic promises. He is ready.
The answer the Lord gives is No! I'm not for you nor am I for them, I'm commander of purpose far above your ethnicity, job description, etc. captain of the Lord of Host.  Joshua's response was to fall on his face and worship asking what does the Lord say to His servant.

*God is raising up worshippers and intercessors to come up to a higher place than "are you for us or them" saying instead "what has my Lord to say to His servant?"
Take off your shoes, where you have come from, step into a new place, a holy place
Learn from Joshua about the Middle East today.  Natural distinctions that separate regions, natural mindedness are you for us or them.  Lift us up out of that into more worship.  Acknowledge God's sovereignty, humility like Joshua.

If we are going to be part of the highway project, we must come to this place of humility out of worship and intercession.

Deut 9:4-6 Do not say in your heart...because of my righteousness..but because of the wickedness of these nations...

Deut 9:24 You have been rebellious against the Lord from the day I knew you.  This is God's perspective of Israel and still is!  It is His perspective of us too!  We have been rebellious from the day He knew us.  It is about His righteousness, His Sovereignty, not ours! The only special thing about Israel is God!

Deut 9:25-29 Goes on to describe Israel being God's chosen inheritance.  "Yet they are Thy people even Thine inheritance."

We learn from Joshua position of worship and humility that Lord's purposes will be established in the Middle East. This position will keep us from an argumentative place.

Our personal calling and the prophetic words over our lives are not the whole picture!  We need to completely surrender in worship to the larger, huge purpose of God.  We are only a part, not the whole.  We need to strive to be in a place of humility.

Jacob

Ps 24:1ff
vs.6  This is the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Thy face--even Jacob.  Selah
I don't know about you, but that's the last person I would use to compare to the generation of those who see Him and to the previous verses of "who has not sworn deceitfully"

Gen 25:23 Two nations are in your womb, older shall serve younger
This is a prophecy from the Sovereign God who knows the end from the beginning
vs 28 Issac loved Esau, Rebekah love Jacob-supplanter-nature already in him, he grabbed heal of brother from birth

Romans 9:10-13 not done anything good or bad...because of Him who calls
Gen 27:1ff
Issac was about to do something that was not in alignment with God's purposes, he was going to bless Esau, just like Abraham "Oh that Ishmael...."
God said, "NO!"

Prophetic intercessory mother obeyed the purposes and brought it into alignment

Vs 21 Please come near that I may feel you my son whether you are really my son Esau or not
Jacob clothed himself in the son that the father loved!
Rom 13:14 put on the Lord Jesus Christ...the Son that the Father loved!
Gal 3:20-27
Col 3:1-3
Jn 3:16

Yeshua is the son that the Father loves

To receive blessing today come before the Father clothed in the son that the father loved.  When he feels His own Son and identifies with calvary He blesses! Great insight!

Gen 32:24 alone with God, encounter with a Man wrestling. what's your name, same question Issac asked Jacob when he brought stew in tent, this time he tells the truth, not lying or manipulating anymore, God changes his name.

Ps 24:6 is a reference to Gen 32 not Gen 27 cause this time Jacob didn't swear deceitfully, has clean hand, pure heart, honest says "I'm Jacob." Confesses who he is.

God changes everything "you are Israel."

This is Jacob, generation that seeks God, seeks His face

Lessons from Jacob:  come to God with an honest heart wrestle through until we realize who we really are.

God has a way to change us.
Simeon "reed" to Peter "rock"
Jacob "supplanter" to Israel "prince"

Summary-to be part of God's purposes in Isaiah 19:

Recognition of the Sovereignty, acceptance of His destiny.  Worship and intercession with humility taking off shoes of old standing and stand on new Holy ground.

Thank You for Word, aligning us. Speak blessing this day over each one. Know You hear our voice but feel Your Son as we are clothed with Jesus, equipped for every good work.

From Jerusalem with love,  Janet

RIGHT NOW MANY OF YOU ARE IN A SITUATION THAT LOOKS IMPOSSIBLE OR DIFFICULT.  YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THINGS ARE HAPPENING OR MAYBE WHY THEY HAVE NOT HAPPENED.  THE ANSWER IS HUMILITY AND SUBMISSION TO THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD.

YOU MUST RECOGNIZE THAT EVERYTHING THAT IS HAPPENING IN THE EARTH IS HAPPENING BECAUSE OF THE SOVEREIGN PLANS OF GOD FOR ISRAEL, JERUSALEM AND GOD'S KINGDOM.  IF YOU FAIL TO SEE THAT YOU WILL NEVER GRASP THE CONTEXT OF TIME AND SPACE THAT WE ARE LIVING IN.  IT IS A REVELATION AND IT IS SIMPLE TO SAY AND TAKES WRESTLING TO ENTER!
