The American Dream is about to Become the American Nightmare!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Grace and Peace to each of you and your families as we enter into "perilous times."  We are still in the Kingdom of Tonga and it has been refreshing to be here in many ways.  There is no doubt in my mind that these islands are an end time refuge for those that live here and those that the Lord will lead here.  We met a family from Georgia that the Lord directed to walk away from the "American Dream" and to re-settle here with 6 of their 9 children!  They are wonderful people that are walking in faith and prophetic beyond what their natural mind understands.   It not only takes faith but courage to break out of the "American Dream" deception.  G. Campbell Morgan once stated, "Satan's first choice is to cooperate with us.  Persecution is only his second-best method."  The Lord is about to purge the satanic cooperation that is in the church by shifting us into a season of persecution.    

Remember that Jesus, Peter, John and Paul when talking about the end times all said "Do not be deceived."  Deception is one of the greatest characteristics of the end times.  If possible, even the elect will be deceived.  We have to have faith in God that He can lead us into truth easier than the Devil can lead us into deception.  If our heart is postured in pride the enemy has a loop-hole to lead us into temptation and deception.  Pride is what took Lucifer out and pride is how the serpent beguiled Eve.  The enemy uses beguilement in the lives of Christians.  Beguilement is different than deception.  In deception your basic premises are in error.  In beguilement your basic premises are true but the enemy leads you to an erroneous conclusion.  Much of the church in America is beguiled.  We have allot of truth and facts but we have been led to wrong conclusions and those wrong conclusions have blinded us to what the Lord is intending to do. 

I have wrestled with how I should share the stirrings in my heart regarding the U.S. and its future.  I believe that the "American Dream" is an "American Deception" in the body of Christ and about to become an "American Nightmare".  Most American Christians have a difficult time in distinguishing what the Lord is saying about the church from what the Lord is saying about the nation and the tendancy is to lump it all together.  Another place of beguilement has been prophecies that the Lord will fulfill in the millennium reign but they are being applied to this side of Christ's return.  This type of application is out of context.  It is out of the context of the time period that the Lord is intending to fulfill them in.  The Jews as well as the early church made this mistake as well.  They applied second coming prophecies to His first coming and then rejected Jesus as Messiah because it did not come to pass.   Please don't take this wrong and prayerfully consider what I am saying here as it WILL eternally benefit you at the judgment seat of Christ.    The church in America is moved from living in the "American Dream" to living in the "American Deception" and we are about to move into the "American Nightmare." 

I want to give you a couple of definitions and principles first.  

1.  PRS   Present Religious System (term from Shaun Kearny)  The Present Religious System is the pseudo-christian religious system that builds buildings, denominations, organizations, and is a "top-down" authority structure that characterizes the Roman Catholic Church as well as the protestant western church and the Eastern Orthodox church.  Ultimately it will (and has already in some cases) aligned itself with the antichrist system.  As Rick Howard has said,  "God begins to move and you have a movement, men began to build buildings, Bible colleges, and seminaries, and you have monuments, and then the Spirit of the Lord abandons it, and you end up with a mausoleum-nice buildings and ministries but no Presence--Ichabod.  It always goes from movement to monument to mausoleum."  They may be large having millions of dollars worth of property and millions of people that attend but the reality is there is little or no life of the Spirit of God.  Just because a Christian church, denomination or organization is large or wealthy does not make it Christian any more than going into McDonalds makes you a hamburger. 

2. Biblical Christianity-is not what most of us grew up in or understand or where you go on Sunday morning but it is what is seen in the Holy Scriptures.  It is a lifestyle of the life of Christ in His body through discipleship where believers embrace the cross and become witnesses by the power of the Holy Spirit.  It was the "life" of the believers for the first 300 years and the life of many that were branded as heretics for the next 1700 years that lived outside of their PRS. 

3.  PRS =/= Biblical Christianity.  These two are mutually exclusive of each other.  There is no PRS in Biblical Christianity; however, there are elements of Biblical Christianity in the PRS.  Having said that I want to immediately say that elements of Biblical Christianity in the PRS do not in any way VALIDATE or SANCTIFY or JUSTIFY the PRS. 

4. Those of us who have been a part of the PRS have a veil over our eyes and perceptions.  If you are willing to do what He asks and if you will ask the Lord to help take the veils away by His Spirit of Truth then you will begin to see more clearly. 

THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS

Without a doubt the message of the cross of Christ is central to our salvation and the life of believers.  The message of the cross in not a very popular theme in the PRS.  When is the last time you heard a message on the cross?  The message of the cross is in total opposition to the "American Dream". 

Mt 10:38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.  39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

Mt 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.  26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world (American Dream), and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?  27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

1 Co 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Gal 6:14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Php 3:17   Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. 18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame - who set their mind on earthly things. 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

In these verses we are commanded by Jesus and Paul to:

1.                Take up our cross

2.                Follow the Lord

3.                Loose our life

4.                Preach the message of the cross because it is the power of God for salvation

5.                Boast only in the cross because the world has been crucified to us and us to the world

6.                Walk as Paul did and recognize that those who do not are enemies of the cross because they have set their minds on earthly things.

These are a few of the verses regarding the message of the cross.  This message has been acknowledged by the PRS but it is not lived out in reality.  Brothers and sisters I want to encourage you to take a sober inventory of your life and ask yourself are you living for the cross and by the cross or are you living according to your desire of the "American Dream"?  What are your goals?  Why are you here?  What is your eternal purpose? 

Any goal or purpose that are aligned with the cross of Christ will stand at the judgment seat of Christ.  And any goal or purpose that is not aligned with the cross of Christ will be completely lost. 

1 Co 3:14 If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

Do not be deceived if you are living for the "American Dream" you will suffer loss.  We have to come back to the message of the cross and live our life embracing the cross.

Remember the words of our Lord Jesus.

Mt 6:31 "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'  32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.  NKJV

THE BEATITUDES-THE  LIFESTYLE OF THOSE THAT LIVE THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS

In the Millennial reign and for all eternity we will be locked into an assignment of the Lord.  Some assignments will be menial and some will be awesome.   Contrary to what most people think of heaven (sitting on a cloud and playing a harp) heaven is a place of ruling and reigning with the Lord.  The decisions you are making right now have bearing on that eternal destiny.  Some of you that are reading this will be called "great" in the Kingdom of Heaven by the Lord Himself and some of you will be called "least" in the Kingdom of Heaven by the Lord.  Your decisions in these days will determine what He says to you and your destiny. 

Mt 5:19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.  20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew chapters 5,6 and 7 are the measuring rod and standard for the believer.  Don't compare yourself to any man or PRS!  You are a fool if you do.  2 Co 10:12

For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

Some have thought that they could never live out the Beatitudes but the Lord has provided everything we need to live out these chapters.  It is by His grace and by His Spirit but we have to live by the cross and reckon ourselves dead. 

Ro 6:5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

2 Pe 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness , through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. NKJV

Consider verse 3.  His divine power has given to us ALL THINGS THAT PERTAIN TO LIFE AND GODLINESS  and verse 4  given to us exceedingly great and precious promises that through these you may be PARTAKERS of the DIVINE NATURE.   

It is through these great and precious promises that we are able to escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.   Most Christians are not escaping the corruption that is in the world but are actually embracing it and inviting it into their homes through ungodly music, tv, movies etc.  This corruption that is in the world is totally based in lust. 

1 Jn 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life - is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.  NKJV

In the western church we are so diluted and lukewarm that just in the mere reading of these verses we automatically shift into a mode to try to rationalize them away or justify ourselves in light of our own "American Dream" circumstances.  Ouch!  That hurts good.

Seriously, brothers and sisters this is a critical issue in light of the judgment seat of Christ.  We are down to the wire in these days and there has never, ever been so great an opportunity as there is right now to move ahead in the Kingdom.  These are the days that the prophets and apostles of old longed to look into-the day of the Lord.

THE AMERICAN NIGHTMARE

I have great concern in my spirit as to some of the prophecies and words that I have read and heard concerning the U.S.  There has been scripture twisting and taking verses out of context as well as out right false prophecy bouncing around the body.  Many of these words feed the pride, flesh and lust of men.  The Word of the Lord and the Spirit of the Lord never agree with our flesh. 

Gal 5:16  I say then: Walk in the Spirit , and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh . 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit , and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.  NKJV

Don't get me wrong I whole heartedly agree with praying and fasting for our nation and the election.  Everyone is quick to quote 1 Chron 7:14, but let's read the context.

2 Ch 7:13 When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.  NKJV

Notice in verse 13 it is speaking about judgment coming from the Lord.  When I:  shut up heaven, command the locust, send pestilence among MY PEOPLE.    Many Christians still have not figured out whether something is sent by God, the Devil, man or just an accident. 

The critical issue from my perspective is verse 14 where it says "humble themselves".   That is not just talking about fasting.  When we get into a place of true humility and we are seeking the Lord our prayers will be effective.  But it is the job of the church to humble ourselves and turn from our wicked ways.  I do believe that there is a growing army of intercessors in the U.S. but this is only the beginning of this army.  The Lord is about to unleash the "American Nightmare". 

I know some of you think I have gone to far now, but over the next 5 - 10 years you will see this nightmare begin to unfold and it will be far worse then most of you can imagine right now.  The "American Nightmare" will affect the entire Earth.  The more that nations are tied into the U.S. the more they will be affected.   

In the spring of 1980 I had a trance where the Lord showed me specific things about the end times and some of it pertained to the U.S.  In October of 2006 I had another end time dream.  Then in the June of 2007 I was in Jerusalem for the 40^th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem and 2 nights in a row I had dreams concerning America and what is coming.  One day later the Lord Himself came to me and spoke very specific things to me concerning the U.S.  He reconfirmed the dreams and the trance to me and then shared more details to me about what is coming. 

The Lord never commissioned me to right a book about these things but He did say, "I will give you wisdom and prepare you for these days and I will lead others to you that you can help to be ready for these days."  He also said,  "Many of my people (in the U.S.) will not be ready for these days because they refuse to listen and to believe what is about to happen and they will be unprepared."  He went on to say, "But I always have a remnant that is sober, vigilant and watchful and they will be ready."  

I am grateful for the U.S. and for growing up in one of the greatest nations in the world.  However, I am not into nationalism.  I am into the Kingdom of God.  The King is coming with His kingdom!  Praise the Lord.  Maranatha!

I whole heartedly agree with Mike Bickle's vision he had in Cairo back in the early 1980's that the nature of the church was going to totally change in one generation.  I also embrace Rick Joyner's vision of the great civil war coming to the church in America.  I believe that out of this civil war the church will become what the Lord intends and that it will not look like it does in these days.  I believe that the agent of change will be the "American Nightmare".

I only have a small perspective of what the Lord has shown me and I believe it is extremely relevant for what is happening in these days.

If you are praying in the context of the "American Dream" you will be hindered and blinded to what the Lord is about to do. 

THEIR EYES WERE HINDERED

Read Luke 24:13-35.   We have two of the disciples:  Cleopas and Luke (Church history says the physician was the other disciple and Luke is the only one who records this event) who had been with Jesus for 1-3 years.  They had seen Him do miracles, preach and minister to many people.  They probably had personally sat around a fire with Him and talked about their lives as well.  They had seen Him crucified and even heard from Peter, John and the women that He had risen.  Yet, they did not believe or recognize Him when they met Him on the road. 

Lk 24:16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

In verse 16 it says their eyes were "holden" or "restrained".  The Greek word is "ekratounto"

NT:2902  krateo (krat-eh'-o); from NT:2904; to use strength, i.e. seize or retain (literally or figuratively): KJV - hold (by, fast), keep, lay hand (hold) on, obtain, retain, take (by).

This word also means to be held fast or imprisoned.

In Revelation we find such nuances as "holding on" to a possession in 2:25, and "holding" a teaching in 2:14.

Rv 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. 15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. KJV

The disciples were holding to a teaching that blinded their natural eyes as well as their spiritual eyes.  We can see what teaching they were holding to in verse 21.

Lk 24:21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.

We trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel.  Jesus did redeem Israel but not the way that they thought He was going to do it or the way they were "trusting in".   What doctrine are you trusting in?  Are you trusting in the U.S. economy, U.S. government or the U.S. dollar?  Their IDEA of HOW He was going to do it was what they trusted in and it was blinding them!  Blinding them to such a degree that they could not even perceive Him as He walked with them, taught them Scriptures and asked them questions.  It was not till the breaking of bread, something that He had done hundreds of times with them, that they recognized Him. 

Lk 24:30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.  KJV

The Greek word for their eyes opening is opposite the same word as their eyes were holden.

My point is this:  many American Christians have eyes that are holden.  They have a teaching or an idea of what they think the Lord is doing or what they want Him to do and they are blinded.  They are imprisoned by their own ideas of what they think the Lord is going to do in the U.S.  Many are "trusting in" the Lord to rescue the U.S. and that is NOT going to happen!  He will rescue His remnant and those that are diligent in watching but brothers and sisters there is great blindness to what is happening.  Our eyes are holden.    

If Luke and Cleopas were blinded not only spiritually in seeing the Lord but in the natural they could not recognize Him because of a wrong concept; what makes us think we can see what He is doing?  We need to repent of teachings and ideas of what we think He is doing and what we are trusting in and seek the Lord in true communion.

The word of the Lord can be burning in your heart and you can still miss it because of blindness. 

Lk 24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? KJV

No one wants to give up the "American Dream" but the "American Dream" is not the "Kingdom Dream".  No one wants to think of the U.S. becoming non-existent.  We are the greatest nation on the Earth.  But Brothers and Sisters don't be deceived the U.S. is not in the Scriptures in the last days.  I believe that the church in America is about to rise up and be awesome and that needs to be our focus.  We need to get back to true koinonia, discipleship and preaching the cross of Christ. 

A LESSON FROM CHINA

On October 1, 1949 Mao Zedong announced in Tiananmen Square the birth of the People's Republic of China.  The first few years the government quietly watched the church.  The persecution broke out in the early 1950s and by 1953 most of the missionaries had been thrown out.  This was typically interpreted as the "work of the Devil."  The persecution the ejection of missionaries all attributed to the Devil and that he was going to destroy the work of the Lord.  The general consensus was that there was no way the young believers could survive the brutality of a totalitarian regime that was hell-bent on destroying Christianity once and for all. Many missionaries felt that they had failed in China.  During the 1950's and 60's China went through the cultural revolution because of communism where not only Christianity was attacked but all religions and much of their culture was destroyed. There was very little news out of China for 30 years and then when the Bamboo curtain fell in the late 70s it was obvious that the church in China had grown exponentially. At the beginning of the take-over in 1949 there were about 700,000 protestants and 3-4 million Catholics.   The missionaries who were there earlier could hardly believe what the Lord had done during those difficult years of persecution.  One of the great things the Lord did was deliver the church of most of the Western influence that had been brought in by the missionaries.  God changed the nature of the church in China in one generation!  He is about to do it in the U.S.!  

HUMILITY

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves

It is not the sin of the Republicans or Democrats or Bush or Hollywood, or Las Vegas, or San Francisco or abortion as horrible as murdering little babies is but it IS the sin of the church.  The pride of the church.   We have so much pride.  I have so much pride.  If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves

1 Pe 5:5-11

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for

"God resists the proud,

But gives grace to the humble ." 

6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.  8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.  11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

1.     Humble yourself-repent for seeking the "American Dream" and seek ye first the Kingdom of God with all fervency and loose your life for the sake of Jesus Christ.

Mt 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.  34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Mt 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.  26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?  27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

2.     Confess your blindness-ask God to open your eyes.

Jn 9:39 And Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind." 40 Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, "Are we blind also?"  41 Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, 'We see.' Therefore your sin remains. NKJV 

Rv 3:17 Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing' - and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked -   18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.  19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.  20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.  21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."'"

3.     Ask the Lord for wisdom.  This is so critical in this hour. The decisions you make must flow out of the wisdom of God not the wisdom of this world.

Jas 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. NKJV

4.     Begin to take steps to prepare for the worst.  (shortages, anarchy, infrastructure failure etc.) Not out of fear but out of wisdom. 

Lk 12:47 And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.  48 But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

Mt 16:2 He answered and said to them, "When it is evening you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red'; 3 and in the morning, 'It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.' Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.

5.     Remember that we ARE in the LAST DAYS and the greatest danger is DECPTION!       Be sober, vigilant and watch. 

Lk 21:8 And He said: "Take heed that you not be deceived.

Mk 13:32 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.  33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.  34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch .  35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming - in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning -   36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping.  37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch !"

The "American Dream" is dead but the "American Deception" is alive and well in the church and over the next few years many will say, "this is a nightmare from Hell."  But it is NOT a nightmare it IS the coming of the great King.  Cheer up things are going to get worse but behold He cometh!
