 FEAST OF SHAVUOT

THE FEAST OF SHAVUOT

Today is the Feast of Shavuot or Pentecost.  And once again the Western church is out of step with the times and seasons of God.  Many foolish Western Christians went to Israel almost a month ago to celebrate the Feast of Pentecost according to the Western Church calander that is based on paganism.  It is no wonder that many Jews do not believe that Yeshua, Jesus is Messiah.  They know that He would not make a mistake on the dates of Passover or Pentecost.  It is just another tool of the enemy to destroy the witness of the Western church.  Please take time to prayerfully read this today and celebrate the true feast of Shavuot and pray for the Jews and Israel.

Shavuot: (Pentecost) The Betrothal of Israel

1.      The Lord delivers His wife from her captors and unto Himself alone in the wilderness.

Ex 5:1 Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, "Thus says the LORD God of Israel: 'LetMypeoplego, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.' "

2.      He has His bride go through beauty preparations & washingsseven weeks (Shavuot -means seven weeks) the Israelites were commanded to prepare themselves for the receiving of the marriage covenant. Deut 16: 9-7 When a marriage Ketubah is received the "bride to be" has 48 hours to accept it. If she does not receive within 48 hours, it is annulled and broken. before receiving the marriage ketubah, written and delivered. For

Ex 31:18 And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.

3.      The bride counts the weeks. We are counting now for the seven weeks called the "Counting of the Omer."  We wave a grain offering before the Lord each night for seven weeks counting up to Shavout. Can you imagine preparing for seven weeks to receive something from the Lord? Ex 34:22 You shall celebrate feast of weeks, that is the first fruits of the wheat harvest...During this time we read a few verses of psalm 119 each day up to Shavout.

How did they prepare? What did they do?

They were commanded to wash their clothes as well as wash and purify their bodies and be ready! Israel answered by saying "Everything that God has said we will do." They prepared their hearts.

Shavout is also an agricultural feast that represented the first fruits of the kingdom.  It represents God's provision in the wilderness, thanksgiving offerings to the Lord, the first harvest of wheat, and the marriage covenant all in one. It is one of the three major pilgrimage feasts the Lord commanded Israel to keep.

As a husband, the Lord rescued His bride from the hand of Pharaoh. And brought her to a quite place alone; to His mountain where He would wed her. The beginning of our faith was birthed in those days when the word of God was delivered from God's lips as He spoke them to Moses and wrote them with His own finger!

It was Yeshua on the mountain with Moses! It was Yeshua who wrote the Tablets

It was Yeshua on the mountain with Moses (and Elijah) during tabernacles as well in John

This was the Genesis of Genesis! The beginning point of the word that we know as the Bible.

The Lord came down to manifest Himself to His bride. The Lord descended on the mountain with fire.   Ex. 19:18 The stone tablets were a physical sign of the marriage covenant that God wrote with His own hand! They were made of stone to show their permanence. Shavout is held exactly fifty days after (Passover) First Fruits.

Passover represented physical freedom.

Shavout represents spiritual freedom,

4.          Shavout in the New Testament

In the future there would be another significant Shavout, one that would complete and seal the first. In that day and era it was written about in the Greek tongue in the renewed covenant book of Acts called Pentecost

Receiving the Spirit of the Torah    Acts 1:12, 2: 1 - 4. 41- 47.

They waited as Jesus told them and prepared themselves as they always had each year, to celebrate the festival and receive the promised Spirit.

5.      Both instances manifested fire. Torah is called the holy fire of the Lord.

Acts 2:3

And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Numbers 9:15Now on the day that the tabernacle was raised up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the Testimony; from evening until morning it was above the tabernacle like the appearance of fire.

6.      On the eve of Shavout it is customary to stay up all night studying and discussing the Torah, the Word of God! What were the disciples doing in Acts 2?  What they would be doing every Shavout, getting in the Word together ...all night long. Shavuot is the Marriage Covenant signed by the finger of the God of Israel on the hearts of Israel!

Sealed by the giving of the Spirit of the Torah in the fullness of His power. To be manifested in us daily as we walk in this fulfillment.  Moses pointed to this day,we are the people in the time, that all this was prepared for before hand, that we would walk in it.

7.     From  Mount Sinai to Acts Chapter 2 today, we have it all:  The

Word and the Spirit and we are lliving in  the very time of the

harvest and  the return of the Messiah with the  third manifestation

        of  Fire!

Pentecost/ Shavuot marks the beginning of the summer wheat harvest Matt. 13:24 of first fruits!

2 Peter 3:12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day on account of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning and the elements will melt with intense heat.

1 Peter1:3-12 --- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith--the salvation of your souls.

10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, 11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. 12 To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven--things which angels desire to look into.

Remember:   When a marriage Ketubah is received the bride to be has 48 hours to accept it!

8.      48 hours is two days and a day is as a thousand years with the Lord.

2 Pe 3:8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years , and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Yeshua came nearly 2000 years ago. His death and resurrection made the betrothal of the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel- Ephraim possible. So He personally delivered the second betrothal and is returning to those who accepted it, to prepare for the wedding, The Marriage Supper of the Lamb. It has been 48 hours and the time is short. The shofars are sounding His return the bride has been awakened to prepare themselves for his arrival and the coming wedding.

Jn 3:27 John answered and said, "A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. 28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, 'I am not the Christ,' but, 'I have been sent before Him.' 29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.

NKJV

1 Th 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout , with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

NKJV

Rv 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9 Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb !'" And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God." 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

NKJV

Ro 13:11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. NKJV

1 Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

Eph 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9(for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.  12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says:

"Awake , you who sleep,

Arise from the dead,

And Christ will give you light."

15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.  18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.

NKJV

Who is awake?          They are the Bride.

Rv 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say , "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
NKJV
