Art Evening in Wicker Park: Make Believe Tour + First Fridays
Join us for a special guided walking tour of the Make Believe art in vacant storefronts installations TONIGHT Friday October 1. The group will meet at 1266 N Milwaukee at 7pm and take a guided tour of the Make Believe art installations. During the tour, participants will meet the artists and learn about their work. The tour ends at the Flat Iron Artist's First Friday celebration where you can join in the art + fashion fun of First Fridays at 8pm. Event: Bicycles and the Arts
On Friday, October 1 at 8pm join Borderbend Arts Collective at Happy Dog Gallery (1542 N. Milwaukee, 2nd floor) for "Bicycles and the Arts," a true multidisciplinary event. Bicycles and the Arts creatively explores connections between these two vital elements of culture and society, it will include readings, an art exhibit and musical ensemble performance. Design Harvest 2010
Come check out Chicago's 1st annual street festival celebrating the home. This FREE fall festival will have over 50 design-themed vendors and great live music. Bucktown 5K Run
On Sunday October 3, join other Chicago area runners for the annual Bucktown 5K race, a fully paved route that meanders through the leafy streets of Bucktown. Runners will begin at 1621 N. Lecture: Landscape Designs for Historic Homes
Join one of Chicago's top landscape design firms for a lecture on creating landscapes for historic homes and techniques for restoring historic landscapes. Shred-A-Thon with the 1st and 32nd Ward Alderman
Both the 32nd and 1st Ward Alderman invite you to shred and recycle your old and sensitive papers that have been piling up. On Monday October 4, from 5 to 8pm, there will be a truck in front of the 32nd Ward Office (2657 N. Clybourn #1A) providing shredding services for your convenience. On Tuesday, October 12th from 5-8pm the truck will be located at the 1st Ward Office (2058 N. Western Ave.) Come on out with all of your recyclables!
Open House at the Franciscan Outreach Association

Chicago Guitar Festival
The 2010 Guitar Festival presents Paul Galbraith, an internationally renowned artist and innovator of the classical guitar. Galbraith will perform critically acclaimed recordings of works by Bach, Haydn and Brahms, along with his own arrangements of folk tunes from various countries on Friday October 8 at 8pm at the Wicker Park Art Center (2215 North Ave). Haunted Indoor Drive-In Movie

CAPS Meetings
Residents in the Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods that are concerned about crime should plan to attend an upcoming CAPS meeting. Wicker Park and Bucktown are located within the 13th and 14th Districts, and there are eight beats that cover the neighborhood. Below is the list of all eight beats and the date and location of each CAPS meeting. All meetings are from 7-8pm unless otherwise noted: Beat 1312 meets on the second Tuesday of every month at St Helen's Church, 2301 W. Augusta in the basement.
Beat 1322 meets on the first Wednesday of every month at the 13th District, 937 N. Wood.
Beat 1323 meets on the third Wednesday of every month at the Northwest Settlement House, 1012 N. Noble, 2nd Floor.
Beat 1424 meets the second Wednesday of every month at the Wicker Park Fieldhouse, 1425 N. Damen.
Beat 1431 meets the first Thursday of every odd-numbered month at the 14th District, 2150 N. California.
