WPB First Fridays at the Flat Iron
The Flat Iron Artists Association presents WPB First Fridays!  On the First Friday of each month the Wicker Park/Bucktown area will come alive with a unique celebration of the arts.  It's a neighborhood pARTy and everyone is invited!  Start your evening at the historic Flat Iron Arts Building where you can explore two floors of art displayed in artists' studios and living spaces. Of course, the surrounding neighborhood is expecting you, so feel free to venture forth on your own and enjoy the boundless shopping, dining and nightlife opportunities our vibrant community has to offer. The next WPB First Friday will take place THIS FRIDAY September 3 at the Flat Iron Building, 1579 N. Milwaukee from 6-10pm. Admission is always free, but donations are gratefully accepted. WPB is a sponsor of this event - we hope to see you there!


NEXT WEEK AND WEEKEND
FREE Paper and Electronics Recycling
In addition to WPB's usual FREE paper shredding and recycling day on Saturday September 11, FREE electronics recycling will also be offered. All donated computers will be wiped clean of their hard drives, refurbished and donated to elementary schools see: http://pcrr.com/ for more details. Used TV monitors will also be gratefully accepted. Bring your recyclables to the KMART parking lot on Ashland Ave (near Division) between 10am-Noon. See you there!

Beyond the Coyote Fall Arts Festival
Join the inaugural 'Beyond the Coyote' neighborhood fall arts festival at the Flat Iron Art building. This celebratory three day event, including special open studio sessions and events will be located at 1579 N. Milwaukee Ave on September 10-12. Renegade Craft Fair
Hundreds of today's finest DIY indie-craft talents will be setting up shop at The 8th Annual Renegade Craft Fair in Wicker Park. On September 11 and 12 from 11am-7pm, Division Street between Damen and Paulina, will be full of handmade goods from 300+ craftspeople from all over the nation. Tabula Rasa Family Fun Run
Make a difference by participating in the Tabula Rasa Family Fun Run that will start and end at Chicago's beautiful Wicker Park on Saturday September 18. Tabula Rasa, Latin for blank slate, is an initiative to stop the serial incarceration of Chicago youth. Circus in the Park featuring The Midnight Circus
The Midnight Circus is a whimsical assortment of acrobats, aerialists, clowns, contortionists and a dog providing delightful entertainment to all ages in an open air city park setting. Please join the magic and merriment while supporting your local park. The traveling circus will be appearing at Holstein Park (2200 N. CAPS Meetings
Residents in the Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods that are concerned about crime should plan to attend an upcoming CAPS meeting.  Wicker Park and Bucktown are located within the 13th and 14th Districts, and there are eight beats that cover the neighborhood. Below is the list of all eight beats and the date and location of each CAPS meeting.  All meetings are from 7-8pm unless otherwise noted:
Beat 1312 meets on the second Tuesday of every month at St Helen's Church, 2301 W. Augusta in the basement.
Beat 1322 meets on the first Wednesday of every month at the 13th District, 937 N. Wood.
Beat 1323 meets on the third Wednesday of every month at the Northwest Settlement House, 1012 N. Noble, 2nd Floor.
Beat 1424 meets the second Wednesday of every month at the Wicker Park Fieldhouse, 1425 N. Damen.
Beat 1431 meets the first Thursday of every odd-numbered month at the 14th District, 2150 N.  California.
Beat 1432 meets the third Thursday of every month at Holstein Park, 2200 N. Oakley.
Beat 1433 meets the second Tuesday of every month, 6:30pm, at St. Mary's Church (in the basement), 1850 N. Hemirtage.
Beat 1434 meets the second Monday of every month, 6:30pm, at the Bucktown Wicker Park Library Branch, 1701 N. Milwaukee.
