Elgin International Festival  The inaugural Elgin International Festival takes place on Saturday, September 1 at Festival Park in downtown Elgin at Noon. Prior to the event kickoff there will be a parade down E. Chicago Street which will wind south on S. Spring Street and end at Festival Park. One far lane of traffic will be open at all times on Chicago and on Spring as well. Access to portions of Chicago between Riverside Drive and Spring; Spring between Chicago and Fulton; and S. Grove between Chicago and Prairie will be limited, or in some cases closed completely. The parade should finish by no later than Noon. Beginning this fall, the DNA is rolling out a new online real estate marketing resource to more actively promote our downtown commercial and residential leasing and investment opportunities. This new online marketing campaign will feature up-to-date listings of several available downtown properties complete with a combination of interior and exterior photos, features and amenities, leasing options, floorplans, video tours, owner/broker contact info and more! When finalized, it will be a one stop shop for potential new business leads to help stimulate additional economic development and continued investment in our downtown.

Phase V Streetscape Preconstruction Public Meeting
 Transystems, in conjunction with the City of Elgin and the DNA, invites the public to a preconstruction meeting to discuss Phase V of the Central Business District Streetscape Improvement Project scheduled to begin this fall. The public meeting takes place on Wednesday, September 5 at 6PM at The Centre of Elgin's Heritage Ballroom, 100 Symphony Way. |

Pop-Up Prom in Downtown Elgin
Over the next few weeks you may notice the downtown taking on a decidely "prom" look and feel to it as we unveil a new public art project called Pop-Up Prom. Many storefront windows will be decorated to the nines in their finest prom regalia with mannequins displaying various prom styles. The purpose of this campaign is to promote the YWCA's Cindy's Super Sale on September 29, the DNA Prom Time! Awards Gala on October 11, and the City of Elgin's Nightmare on Chicago Street's Miss Zombie Pageant on October 27.
