4th of July Parade Street Closures
The City of Elgin's 2012 Fourth of July Parade - Presented by Sherman Health will be held on Wednesday, July 4. The parade will be staged in the NENA neighborhood, and will step off at the intersection of Douglas and Slade Avenues promptly at 9AM, finishing at Douglas and Highland Avenues in downtown Elgin at roughly 11AM. The following streets in downtown will be closed to vehicle traffic from approximately 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and vehicles parked along these streets after 6 AM will be towed:
* Kimball St. from Dundee Ave. to N. Grove Ave. * Douglas Ave. from River Bluff Rd. to E. Chicago St. * Highland Ave. from Spring St. to N. Grove Ave. * Symphony from Douglas Ave. to Spring St.

The DNA recently launched its new DowntownElgin.com website and the feedback has been very positive from our members and stakeholders.
In addition to an all new Downtown Events Calendar and other new content, one of the exciting new features of our site is a new, comprehensive Downtown Business Directory. Browse and explore over 200 businesses including Restaurants/Bars, Shopping, Services, Entertainment and Public Places. We encourage all downtown business owners to verify the accuracy of their listings and contact us with any corrections.
Remember DNA Members receive enhanced business directory listings complete with a logo or photo, a brief business description, web & social media links as well as placement in our Online Member Directory. Out to Lunch Neighborhood Block Meeting at Toom Toom Thai
The DNA's June Out to Lunch event takes place Tuesday, June 26 at Noon at Toom Toom Thai, 23 S. Grove Ave. The focus of this month's OTL Neighborhood Block Meeting is on construction projects impacting downtown. Guest speakers include Walt Dwyer and Pete Nielsen from IHC Construction to talk about the Riverside Drive Promenade, and Brian Fairwood of Transystems to discuss Phase V of the Central Business District Streetscape.
