Downtown Construction E-Updates

As summer approaches, several construction projects impacting areas of the downtown will soon be underway. Stay informed by subscribing to our Downtown Construction E-Updates.
Beginning June 1, this weekly e-blast will provide downtown stakeholders with the latest details on street closures, time frames, maps of affected areas, detours and project timelines.
Construction projects include Phase V of the Downtown Streetscape Project, Riverside Drive Promenade, Kimball Street Bridge resurfacing and the Elgin Artspace Lofts.

Out to Lunch at Bangkok House & Shanghai Restaurant
The DNA's May Out to Lunch event takes place on Tuesday, May 22 at Noon at Bangkok House & Shanghai Restaurant, 11 Douglas Avenue in downtown Elgin.
This month's special guest speaker will be Rick Floyd, President and CEO of Sherman Health - presenting sponsor of the City of Elgin's 2012 4th of July Parade. Out to Lunch guests will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch including Egg Rolls, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Beef Pa-Naeng, Phad Thai (vegetarian), seasonal fruits and soft drinks. Cost per person is $12 (tax and tip included).

4th of July Parade Volunteers Needed
The 4th of July Parade Committee is seeking parade day volunteers to serve as Block Captains, Route Ambassadors, Set-Up, Tear-Down and Clean-Up Crew, VIP Hospitality and more.
Volunteers must be available from 7AM-Noon on Wednesday, July 4 and must also attend a volunteer orientation at the DNA office the last week of June (TBA). All parade volunteers receive a FREE 4th of July Parade T-shirt.
