Distance Learning Opportunities
Understanding that it is not always possible to take time away to attend training courses and workshops, a few organizations have begun offering distance learning opportunities. The following Web pages offer descriptions of classes and sessions in which you can participate without having to leave your workplace.
· Project ACTION Distance Learning (http://projectaction.easterseals.com/site/PageServer?pagename=ESPA_distance_learning) Easter Seals Project ACTION regularly hosts distance learning events that are available free of charge. These learning opportunities are offered as teleconferences with expert guest speakers. Transcripts from past conferences are also posted to this page.
· National Transit Institute T-Classes (http://www.ntionline.com/topic.asp?TopicArea=7) NTI regularly offers distance learning classes as 90-minute teleconferences. Their Web site includes descriptions of the various classes offered and the details of whom to contact for more information.
· Transportation Research Board E-Sessions (http://www.trb.org/conferences/e-session/default.asp) TRB provides access to presentations given at some of its past conferences through its E-Sessions Web page. These e-sessions allow users to view the PowerPoint slides of a presentation while listening to an audio recording of the speaker.
· National Center on Senior Transportation Webinar Series (http://www.asaging.org/webseminars/websem.cfm?EventID=16264) The National Center on Senior Transportation sponsors a series of Webinars that explore topics in older adult transportation. Their Web site also provides on-demand access to recordings of past Webinars free of charge.
