Summer Fun is in Full Swing!
Dear ,

We hope everyone has had a splendid 4th of July celebration.  We also hope you will consider visiting us here on the Cumberland Plateau in one of our distinct regions real soon.  It's a great place to be and the cost of living and playing are relatively low in comparison to much of the nation.  We have added a few events below and would love to have you join in the fun.  As always, please check our websites for the event schedules, we will highlight several below, and a few you might not find elsewhere at the present time.

There is so much to see and do with these activities alone.  But there is so much more - Dale Hollow Lake and all the water recreation options, Dale Hollow Lake State Park, the Big South Fork, Fall Creek Falls, and the many smaller parks around each region along with the various outfitters (including kayak, trail riding, ohv, and other types of water recreational vehicles), unique and wonderful places to shop (there are huge bargains out there, especially with the 127 Sale around the corner), and so much more.  Great times, great places to stay and great food await.  Be sure to visit our sponsors that you will find at the end of this newsletter.  We've just added another new sponsor - The Galloway Inn located in the Big South Fork region.  The Galloway Inn has new owners that are working to make the Inn a great place to enjoy your time in the Big South Fork.  Look for more about them in a coming issue.

We wish you a wonderful summer.  The fall colors should be spectacular this year with the abundance of rain we have enjoyed.  The wildflowers have been and continue to be vibrant all around.  Remember, we are within a days drive of the majority of the US population and gas prices have fallen in recent weeks.  Again, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to reply to this e-mail and let us know what you would like to see in future issues.

Events Coming Up!
We hope you will find time to enjoy some of these events during July and early August.  Be sure to visit the Cumberland County Playhouse's website to take advantage of their super summer schedule featuring productions such as Hairspray (word has it that it is hilarious and a trip back to the 60's), Smoke on the Mountain (a classic), The Foreigner and more!

DON'T FORGET!  Coming Up AUGUST 22-30, 2009

The second Dale Hollow Lake Poker Run of Summer 2009 will kick off on August 22nd offering participants the opportunity to benefit a great charity (Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville) and possibly win a portion of the winners' pot, plus you receive a Cool Blue Dale Hollow Lake Poker Run wristband with your registration.  The Dale Hollow Lake 7 Card Stud Poker Run will take place over a 9 day period offering participants the option of completing the run in 1 day OR over the course of 9 days (OR any combination of days therein).  It gives everyone a unique opportunity to get out and explore Dale Hollow Lake as they've never experienced it before.  The winding roads that surround the lake offer an exceptional cruising experience for motorists of many modes of transportation.  Sections of the route have been compared to the acclaimed "Tail of the Dragon" in North Carolina that is so loved by motorcyclists from around the country.

Several participants in the June Dale Hollow Lake Poker Run made it a group outing and had a great time.  Gather up your friends (or come on your own), dust off your favorite method of transportation, and check out the latest information on
www.DaleHollowLakePokerRun.com.  The cost per hand is $50 with 50% going to Ronald McDonald House and 50% going to the winners' pot.  You will pick up your registration packet that will include your Cool Blue DHL Poker Run wristband at the first marina of the marinas distributing cards during this run.  That's right, you can even choose where to start and where to end, but you must visit all seven marinas to pick up your cards.  Get in on the fun!  Register online today!
