Greetings!

Spring has sprung on the Cumberland Plateau (which includes the Dale Hollow Lake, Big South Fork and Fall Creek Falls regions)! Pastures are green once again; the fields and woods/forests are teaming with life.  With all the welcome rains, the creeks, rivers, lakes and ponds are flowing once again.  All the waterfalls are beautiful!  Now is a wonderful time to take a break from the everyday and spends some time getting back to nature.  Local kayak outfitter, Jesse Walton, knows several great places to take advantage of the season and experience some of the best of our natural surroundings.  You can read more about Jesse (and even view a video) in an article printed in the Knoxville News Sentinel last fall through this link online.  (He can be reached at (931) 864-6397.)  The many miles of trails (hiking, horseback, and ATV) beckon the outdoor lover to come out and play.  There are many events and activities planned for the coming weeks.  You can find several of those listed below.  It is also time to make your summer vacation plans.  The FIRST Dale Hollow Lake Poker Run is schedule for June 6-14 which will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville.  If you can't make it in June, you can have a second opportunity this summer.  There will be a second run - August 22-30.  You can get the latest details and register at www.DaleHollowLakePokerRun.com. Registration is the only way to obtain your Official Dale Hollow Lake Poker Run Score Card and gift item.  So, be sure to reserve yours today!  It's also an excellent time to plan a quick getaway (romantic, restful, or girls getaway before the graduation and weddings begin) to one of the many fabulous cabins around the area....many still offer their off season rates until mid-May making it an exceptional bargain.  Annie and family enjoyed a relaxing retreat with friends at Kicking Back Cabin last weekend.  They had a great time in the luxurious cabin facility and the picturesque Big South Fork scenery.

East Port Marina & Resort's
