Spring is in the Air!!!
Greetings!
Greetings from the Dale Hollow Lake and the Big South Fork Regions! Spring is in the air and we can't wait to have you come visit us soon. The local events are starting to occur more frequently. The Sgt. Alvin C. York Black Powder Memorial Shoot is this weekend, along with Spring Wildflower Walks at the Cordell Hull State Park and the Road Rally at the Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park. The popular Cordell Hull Folk Festival has moved to Memorial Day Weekend this year. It will be held on Saturday, May 24th beginning at 10:00AM. For a current list of upcoming events, please check our websites at www.Go2DHL.com and www.Go2BSF.com. There are special activities planned at many of the horse camps in the upcoming weeks. (Links to these can be found in the business directory of www.Go2BSF.com.)
The Wal-Mart BFL Tournament will be held soon at Star Point Resort (April 5), followed in early May (5-9) with the Military Team Bass Tournament. We have a separate website dedicated to the American Bass Anglers Tournaments being held at Dale Hollow Lake this year. That link is www.fishdalehollowlake.com. This includes the Military Team Bass Tournament and the National Couples Tournament in September. There are also a couple of benefit fishing tournaments coming up in the next few weeks, these dates can be found in our event calendar. These would be good practice for all the fishing enthusiasts. Fishing is great right now according to the experts.
These events are just the tip of the "iceberg" of things to see and do around the regions. For those of you that have been cooped up most of the winter due to bad weather, ditch the cabin fever and hit the road. Motorcyles use less gas than most modes of transportation, so take that bike out of the garage and enjoy some of the fabulous curves that abound in this area. View the fabulous spring flowers, lake and bluff vistas, stop in at some of the Mom & Pop groceries dotting the regions and enjoy the day. There are numerous activities that can be enjoyed without having to bring along a lot of heavy gear. Hiking, fishing, and strolling along the numerous trails and beaches give you a chance to get back to nature and enjoy a little sunshine. Boats, kayaks, and horses are fairly easy to find to rent, it is recommended though to call and reserve them in advance. Many of the accommodations are still offering their off season rates, yet another reason to visit early and often. Dale Hollow Getaways, Sunset Marina & Resort, Dale Hollow Homes, East Port Marina & Resort, The Rental Station at Dale Hollow, Dale Hollow Cabins, and Star Point Resortare just a few of those with rentals around the Dale Hollow Lake regions, for more please check our business directory listings on www.Go2DHL.com and www.Go2BSF.com.
Hope to see you soon!
