The CitySpace Theatre

Winner of the 1997 Tony Award for Best Play

THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO (by Alfred Uhry, author of DRIVING MISS DAISY) takes place in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1939.  Gone With the Wind is having its world premiere, and Hitler is invading Poland, but the Freitags of Atlanta are much more concerned with who is going to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season.  The family gets pulled apart and then mended together with plenty of comedy, romance and revelations along the way.  CityRep will partner with TheatreOCU for this production.  Featuring Jeanie Cooper and Donald Jordan.  Directed by Matthew Gray.

By Ken Ludwig

May 11 to 20, 2012

 The Freede Little Theatre

Winner of two Tony Awards in 1989 and 2010

One of the most hilarious comedies of all time, LEND ME A TENOR has been translated into sixteen languages and produced in twenty-five countries.  The story follows the misadventures of a regional opera company as they try to produce Verdi's Otello with a world-renowned but notoriously difficult tenor.  What follows is a chain-reaction of mistaken identity, farcical plot twists, double entendres and innuendoes.  LEND ME A TENOR is comedy at its best.  Directed by Jonathan Beck Reed.
