Survey on Fuel Usage Factors

AGC is working with the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) on Project #10-81 which is designed to examine and update the fuel usage factors used in highway construction price adjustment clauses. These factors were originally developed during the Nixon era and have not been revised or updated for over 30 years. Updated fuel factors will result in more accurate and equitable fuel cost adjustments for construction contractors nationwide.

A key element of this effort is to determine contractor fuel usage for a variety of work categories and pay items. AGC would like to bring to your attention the Contractor Survey of Fuel Usage. This survey allows you to provide fuel use information for each of the items that you bid. The survey can be downloaded here: http://www.jfaucett.com/Contractor_Survey_of_Fuel_Usage.xls

A key concern of this study is to provide anonymity for the responding contractors. This survey will not publish company or employee names, all responses will be anonymously aggregated, and no information will be shared with third parties.

Please submit your completed surveys by July 30th.

Your responses will be critical in developing updated fuel factors. By taking the time to complete this survey, you will contribute to more accurate reimbursements due to changes in fuels costs.
