State Transportation Budget Passes - Say Thank You to Your Legislators

With money in the state's transportation budget for the North Spokane Corridor, I-90 and Highway 195, Spokane came out in great position thanks to a strong, unified effort.

Construction on the North Spokane Corridor will continue thanks to $72 million in the state's budget. The Inland Northwest AGC and our partners such as Greater Spokane Incorporated and the Good Roads Association, among others, will continue to advocate for more funds both at the federal and state levels. Our goal is to have the funds to build the corridor to the Spokane River by 2013, and eventually to I-90.

We've made it easy for you to contact your state legislators and thank them for keeping Spokane moving. We strongly encourage you to send this note to your delegation thanking them for their effort.

2012 Build America Awards Online Submission Site is OPEN

Visit www.agc.org/awards for more details.

As you know, AGC's Aon Build America Awards showcase the best construction projects and have for decades. Last year, with the introduction of an online portal system there was a noticeable increase in submissions. AGC has again created and launched a new awards submission site which will allow members the capacity to build their submissions over time, pay online and upload supplemental materials. Members can prepare their project with our 2012 submission primer.

The online submission site will assist members in streamlining the process and eliminate the need to prepare and ship a binder for the project. You will have the capability to upload files and use a credit card to make payments via the awards portal.

All Build America projects submitted must be completed between November 1, 2010 and November 1, 2011. Small and large projects are considered equally-innovation and distinctiveness tend to define the most highly regarded entries and help determine
Aon Build Americawinners. Deadline for submissions is November 4, 2011. Winners will be announced in Honolulu, Hawaii at AGC's 93rd Convention next March.
