Greetings from Amelia
Thank you so much for all the good wishes, love, and prayers that you have shared with me and my family this past year. They are deeply appreciated and made such a difference every day of this journey. I have come out the other side of one of our more common modern day challenges, locally metastatic breast cancer. I chose to complete all the treatment recommended by many doctors as well as support myself with a whole lot of holistic medicine in the process. This has been my journey since last June, and oh the places we have been! Multiple surgeries, aggressive chemotherapy, and many weeks of radiation - truly a medical adventure that has challenged me to be Amelia all the way to the depth of my soul.
Returning to work over the last few days, I find I am really enjoying myself. It has helped that a number of people have assured me that I did not lose my touch. The practice I have had in being true to myself and completely authentic is really informing and guiding my work. I look forward to discovering how my evolution as a therapist will manifest as I integrate this journey.
One of the amusements and blessings of this year has been my training as a Lymph Drainage Therapist. Laura is trained also, and the two of us were formidable advocates when docs wanted to discount, or not consider, the risks to my body as I said farewell to many lymph nodes.
Also there is no education quite like experience, and I have now had the opportunity to experience what so many people deal with post-surgically and in oncology treatment. Lymphedema is a challenging condition, and this experience is spurring me on towards more education and as well as wanting to be hands on with more people who are walking similar journeys.
I have been able to remain allies with my body and affirmed its ability to heal and thrive. This is a different point of view, and I appreciate that people honor my languaging requests along the way. Going forward, please know and trust that I am healthy, more than healthy really -- I am thriving. There are inconveniences that crop up in my daily life, but that's all they are, inconveniences, and we all have those.
It's good to be back, I look forward to seeing you soon.
many blessings,
~Amelia

Greetings!
We have so much exciting news it's hard to figure out where to start.
First, on a personal level it is important to share that Amelia has completed treatment and her doctors report that they can find "no evidence of disease." That's as far as doctors go these days, and we are celebrating her return to life and her return to work (more on that below). Thank you all so much for your blessings, prayers, and care during this year of our medical adventure!
Next, we are growing and expanding!
As of July 1st, we have moved our business to West Annapolis - 107 Ridgely Avenue to be exact.
Chesapeake Holistic Health Center has been a wonderful home for over five years, and we have simply and completely grown out of the space.
The process of this move and expansion has two stages. We are in Suite 13B this summer, while we complete the renovations needed to Suite 13A next door. When complete we will have 4-5 treatment rooms, a large group/classroom, two baths, a kitchen, laundry, and a lovely, spacious waiting room.
New name.... As the expansion unfolds we will be announcing our new name, which will be a good fit for our new presence in Annapolis. There needs to be a bit of suspense though, don't you think?
Please read on for directions and many more details!
Many blessings,
Amelia Mitchell, LMT

About Therapist Fit
Therapist fit is the connection between the therapist and their client. A good fit is often not quantifiable; it is simply a feeling of connection, comfort, ease. It creates a safe environment for healing change and long-term therapeutic relationships often develop.
This is one of the true alchemies of the work that we do,
and it is very important to us. Our focus at Ease, Joy, and Alchemy is for our clients to get the therapeutic massage and bodywork that is right for them from the therapist that is the best fit at the time. If that means rotating between Amelia, Laura, and Mia, terrific. We welcome you working with any of us. If that means you have found another therapist outside of our practice, that is terrific too -- because our primary goal is: you taking the best care of you. We always want to do our best for you, and we always want you to be well taken care of.
We also welcome feedback. So if there is something you need, or something not working for you, please let us know. We do our best so that you are comfortable, satisfied, and feel positive about the therapeutic bodywork you are receiving. Thank you for being a part of our practice.
