Healing From the Core Scholarship

Healing From the Core is a curriculum of the Upledger Institute.  This innovative healthcare organization offers continuing education for healing professionals worldwide.  Participants in the workshop will learn how to have healthy boundaries, avoid burnout and develop a strong therapeutic presence. Therapists, healing professionals, teachers, corporate professionals, yoga instructors and parents all benefit from these skills, finding they enhance life personally as well as professionally.
 
The day long workshop will offer tools to develop and enhance general body-energy awareness and the skills necessary to be grounded and energetically full. The workshop includes lecture, hands-on protocols and question and answer periods. Also included are experiential guided meditation explorations, drawing, journaling and a detailed Study Guide. 
 
The instructor is Amelia Mitchell, CMT, a state and nationally certified massage therapist in private practice in Annapolis, Maryland and a Certified Healing From the Core Presenter.  She brings a conscious presence, sensitive, nurturing touch and her loving playful spirit to all her work.  Facilitating connection is one of Amelia�s strongest skills.  Whether it is one on one with a client deepening their personal connection between body, mind and spirit; or in a larger group, supporting interpersonal connections, Amelia dives deeply into this healing work.
 
The scholarship, valued at $100, will be awarded to one individual on the basis of a short essay describing how they would benefit from this workshop.  All are invited to apply regardless of gender, race, religion, national origin or sexual orientation. Nurture the Essential's advisory board will choose the scholarship winner from all entries received by July 10, 2007.

Amelia Mitchell, CMT
is a state and nationally certified massage therapist in private practice in Annapolis, Maryland.

Bodywork sessions can include deep tissue and Swedish massage, Lymphatic Drainage Therapy and CranioSacral Therapy.  All members of the family are welcome, pregnancy and couples massage sessions are a favorite.  Annapolis offices are located in Hillsmere Shores  and on College Parkway in the Broadneck and she also makes local house calls. 

Amelia has been certified to teach Introductory Healing From the Core by the Upledger Institute, and is available to speak on this and other wellness related subjects.
