JINSA Military Academies Program in Israel Doubles in Size for 2012
2012 saw JINSA's Military Academies Program in Israel double in size, allowing 57 future U.S. military officers from the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis and the Coast Guard Academy to experience Israel in a hands-on manner that emphasized personal interactions with Israelis from all backgrounds but especially their IDF counterparts.

JINSA Leadership Delegation Returns From Israel
JINSA leaders, including special guest Navy SEAL Lieutenant Commander Leif Babin, USN (ret.), arrived in Israel on Sunday June 24 for a one-week visit. The agenda had been carefully formulated to address issues of major and immediate concern, including the Iranian threat, implications of the so called "Arab Spring," the status of the peace process as well as other military and national security matters that are always of interest to JINSA members.

Lt. General David P. Fridovich, USA (ret.) Addresses JINSA Audience in New Mexico
Lt. Gen. David P. Fridovich, USA (ret.), the former Deputy Director of the U.S. Special Operations Command, spoke to a JINSA audience in Albuquerque, New Mexico on July 15 at the home of Hal and Theresa Stratton. JINSA Board Member Sid Himmel along with David Buchholtz and John Sandager also served as co-hosts of the event. A Green Beret, Gen. Fridovich retired in December 2011. In March 2012, he joined JINSA as its Director of the JINSA Gemunder Center for Defense & Strategies. Previously, he served as Commander, Special Operations Command, Pacific. Gen. Fridovich spent much of his military career in the Pacific Rim region where, among other things, he directed a widely praised Special Forces counter-terrorism operation in the Philippines. At the Albuquerque event, Gen. Fridovich discussed JINSA's annual Admirals & Generals Trip to Israel that took place in mid-May and in which he participated. He imparted the lessons-learned on the ground in Israel and shared his insights into USSOCOM operations worldwide.

Iran Sanctions Are Dangerously Ineffective - JINSA Report #1133
Much has been made of the latest round of sanctions; they have been described as the toughest ever levied against Iran. However, when it comes to compelling Tehran to end its nuclear weapons program, sanctions - as employed by the U.S. government and our European partners - amount to little more than a time-consuming exercise with scant possibility of success.
