American Hispanic Leaders Return from JINSA Trip to Israel
JINSA brought a delegation of American Hispanic leaders to Israel where
they met with a wide range of Israeli government officials - including
President Shimon Peres - leading academics and journalists during a
week-long visit, Jan. 14 to Jan. 20, 2011.

JINSA's New York Cabinet Hosts First Luncheon of 2011
On January 18, JINSA's New York Cabinet hosted its first luncheon of 2011 featuring Assistant Director Doron Tenne of the Israel Security Agency (ISA). The ISA, officially known by the acronym Shabak and commonly known as the Shin Bet is Israel's internal security service. It is one of three principal organizations of the Israeli intelligence community, alongside Aman (the military intelligence of the IDF) and the Mossad.
Mr. Tenne is a former operational division leader for the Shin Bet. His other roles at the Shin Bet have included its section chief for intelligence collection, and a senior member of its board. Currently, he serves as the liason between the FBI and the Shin Bet. At the briefing, Mr. Tenne discussed "Trends and Challenges in the West Bank and Gaza."

The Kim Dynasty in North Korea
In the latest JINSA Global Briefing, Jun Isomura, a Senior
Fellow at the Hudson Institute, analyzes North Korea's "Kim Dynasty" as
Kim Jong Il, son of founder Kim Il Sung, anoints his own son as the
country's next leader even as his military launches provocative attacks
on South Korea. But, Isomura contends, it is not the attention of Seoul
or even Washington for which Kim strives - it is that of Beijing.
