New Journal of International Security Affairs in book stores soon!
The Spring 2009 issue of the Journal of International Security Affairs will hit bookstores, newsstands and (for all subscribers) your mailbox the first week of April. This issue features 12 impactful articles covering the subjects of "The U.S. Military Faces the Future" and "New Strategic Challenges." The articles cover a range of issues from the sorry state of U.S. military education to post-conflict reconstruction to an examination of the Chinese cyber warfare threat. Highlights include an article on how the vision of "balanced" warfare is being implemented by America's special operations forces by the current commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command, Adm. Eric T. Olson, USN; and a scathing indictment of America's lack of seriousness in addressing the religious and ideological dimensions of the current war by the well-known journalist, author and military strategist Ralph Peters. Daveed Gartenstein-Ross of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies explores the roots of radicalism in Pakistan's feared Inter-Services Intelligence agency (ISI). Other authors of note include John Sigler of the National Defense University and Jeff Kueter, president of the George C. Marshall Institute. Discussing the Global Zero movement is Amb. Max Kampelman, one of America's foremost nuclear negotiators and the subject of this issue's "Perspective" interview.
