Art Sanctuary is excited to announce that bestselling author Terry McMillan (How Stella Got Her Groove Back) will received the 2009 Celebration of Black Writing Lifetime Achievement Award on Friday, May 22, 2009 @ 6:30pm. Admission to this event is $20.

Ms. McMillan will join three additional honorees: scholar Dr. Houston Baker, Jr. (Betrayal), youth author Walter Dean Myers (Hoops) and illustrator Jerry Pinkney.
