Happy Holidays! This December we offer a variety of holiday programs to accommodate even the busiest of visitors. Join us for breakfast or dinner with Santa and meet the big guy in red or enjoy milk and cookies before getting your picture with the jolly man himself. Click here to read more about our holiday programs. Just a reminder the Zoo will be closed on December 25 (Christmas Day) and January 1 (New Year's Day). Zoo hours remain the same during the winter 10am-5pm (last admission at 4:30pm).

Holiday Gift Ideas
Zoo memberships are a great gift for families or grandparents. Receive free admission to the zoo for one year. All zoo memberships purchased as a gift during the month of December will receive four free train ride tickets (to be mailed with their new membership cards).
Find unique and creative gifts for your favorite kids including Thomas & Friends, Calico Critters, Webkinz and more. All zoo members receive a 10% discount on their merchandise purchase in the gift store.
Become a Pal, Proud Animal Lover, and sponsor one of our animals for a year. New PALs during the month of December will be entered into a raffle for a painting by Daisy, our youngest cow. Come see the display in the Education Building.

Zoological Society Annual Meeting

The Buttonwood Park Zoological Society will hold its Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at 6pm at the Buttonwood Park Zoo. The meeting's agenda includes an annual report followed by awards and light refreshments. The winners of the Zoo's 2010 Poetry Contest will read their poems.

Santa arrives at the finale!
Buttonwood Park Zoo is thrilled to host its fourth annual Merry TubaChristmas concert. Get into the spirit like never before with a unique musical experience that's fun for all ages. Listen to your favorite Christmas carols and sing along as local tuba and euphonium players of all ages perform these specially arranged tunes. Join us as we welcome Santa's arrival to the Zoo following the concert. Be sure to bundle up for this outdoor performance. Thanks for Fighting the Frost!
Special thanks to all of our members and guests who donated coats on November 6th to the Fight the Frost Coat Drive. The event was created, promoted and run by UMass students Nicole Collins, Aaron Pavao, Bryan Rodrigues, Nick Trudeau and Justin McCormack. The group collected 201 gently used or outgrown coats for the local charity Gifts to Give.
