Buttonwood Park Zoo is open every day (except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day) from 10:00am - 5:00pm. Gates close at 4:30pm.

In anticipation of the possible hurricane, the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society will make a decision regarding  Free Fun Friday early tomorrow morning. Please check with the Zoo after 9:00am for the desicion at
(508) 991-4556 x 11.  The decision will also be posted at www.bpzoo.org and on the Zoo's Facebook page. Thank You.
 
The Zoo will be open free to the public tomorrow, Friday, September 3rd thanks to the Highland Street Foundation Free Fun Friday program.  The Zoo will be open regular hours of 10AM to 5PM with last entry at 4:30PM.  Train and Carousel rides will be available for standard ticket prices. Visit www.bpzoo.org for further information on the Highland Street Foundation and the Free Fun Friday program.
Aquatic Touch TankTouch Tank
Cost: Free with zoo admission 
 
Ever wonder what a hermit crab feels like? The Touch Tank will feature animals such as spider crabs, horseshoe crabs, sea stars, hermit crabs, sea urchins, rock crabs and skate eggs.  Visit our new Touch Tank in the Wildlife Education Center in September to find out!  Check our website for hours of availability.  Courtesy of a grant from the Bristol County Savings Bank Foundation.

The Zoo is getting ready to welcome our TWO MILLIONTH VISITOR and it could be YOU!  Our lucky two millionth guest will receive a special prize package.  As the kids head back to school, we have many programs each weekend to keep your family busy. 
Carousel  
Cost: zoo admission + $2/ride 
Wildlife Carousel
 
Ride your favorite animal on the Wildlife Carousel from 10AM-4:30PM. Tickets to ride the carousel are $2.  The Carousel will be open daily this fall, weather permitting.

Elephant Tracks Elephant Tracks

Join the American Association of Zoo Keepers in this fundraising walk at the Buttonwood Park Zoo. All monies raised will benefit wild populations of elephants. For more information, please visit the Elephant Tracks Page.
Children 5 and under: free registration, $10 minimum sponsorship.
Age 6 and up: $10 registration fee, $10 minimum sponsorships.
Groups up to 10: no registration fee, $200 minimum sponsorships. Groups of 11 or more: no registration fee, $300 minimum sponsorships. All participants receive free zoo admission for the day of the walk!

Bring a blanket to spread on the ground and enjoy a beautiful Friday evening at the zoo. Relax around the campfire as we share an activity, a story and a snack. There will be a different topic for each campfire. Participants must pre-register and pay in advance by calling (508) 991-4556 x 18 or by visiting www.bpzoo.org.

Harbor SealBreakfast with the Animals
Saturday, September 25
Cost: Members $15/person; Non-members: $20/person; Children under 1 are free 

 
Rise and shine with the animals and watch as some of them receive their morning meal.  The program includes zoo tour, hot breakfast buffet and zoo admission for the day.  Participants must  pre-register and pre-pay by calling (508) 991-4556 x 14 or by visiting www.bpzoo.org.
Flashlight Adventure ActivityScout Day
Saturday, September 25             1:00PM-4:00PM
 
Make s'mores, partake in activities and discover the experiences and programs the Zoo offers for Boy and Girl Scouts.  All Boy and Girl Scouts under the age of 17 wearing Scout gear will be admitted for free.  Accompanying adults and siblings must pay regular admission. 
BennyZoo Clamboil
Saturday, September 25           3:00PM-6:00PM
Members: $40 for adult and $10 for children
Non-members: $45 for adult  and $15 for children

 
Join us for an afternoon of great food and fun!  Ticket price includes clam boil supper, soft drinks, zoo admission and fun games & activities for the kids.  Beer & Wine cash bar.  This event is pre-register and pre-pay by calling (508) 991-4556 x 10 or by visiting www.bpzoo.org.

Toe Jam Puppet Band

Please note: there will be no Toe Jam Puppet Band on Labor Day, September 6, and Columbus Day, October 11.  

 

Toddler Tales

Every Thursday at 10:30AM

Cost: Free with zoo admission

 

Enjoy a zooper fun story time at the Zoo! Toddler Tales is free with zoo admission and includes a snack and a craft/activity. Recommended for ages 3 - 5.

Crafts, activities, and slightly scary fun for all ages!
