How can you help the Zoo in May?

You can help the Zoo receive a $50,000 grant from Pepsi by simply voting online!  The Buttonwood Park Zoo is in the running for a Pepsi Refresh Grant, which would help us create a new education animal program. The money will be used to acquire educational animals, to build suitable housing for them, and to fund a program coordinator.  Education animals (like snakes, birds and small mammals) help us create memorable connections to nature through up-close, intimate animal encounters.

You can vote every day throughout the month of May.  Please help us by voting every day! Click Here to Vote! Please help spread the word!  This is an AMAZING opportunity for the Zoo!

Interested in Plants?
Investigate Buttonwood Brook Plants -A Visitor's Guide

The Buttonwood Park Zoo is proud to introduce an educational pamphlet created by the members of the Garden Club of Buzzards Bay, Buttonwood Brook Plants - A Visitor's Guide. Highlighting trees, shrubs and ferns, the guide provides information on site needs, size at maturity and wildlife value of the individual species. The pamphlet is an identification guide for the plants located along the brook edge in the Zoo, but also provides valuable information for the home or business owner. The guide is a component of the Garden Club's work to restore the banks of Buttonwood Brook in the Zoo. The guide will be available in the North Woods Gift Store at a suggested donation of $2.00. Any funds raised through the sale of the booklet will go towards defraying the cost of future printings.
