Toe Jam Puppet Band Creative Arts Playgroup

Every Monday                             10:30AM and 12:30PM

Zoo admission + $5/family

 

Sing, dance and play the hour away with the famous Toe Jam Puppet Band!

 

 

Toddler Tales

Every Thursday                                10:30AM

Cost: Free with zoo admission

 

Enjoy a zooper fun story time at the zoo! Toddler Tales is free with zoo admission and includes a snack and a craft/activity. Recommended for ages 3 - 5.  Please note there will be no Toddler Tales on Thursday, April 22. 

 

 

Monkey Business

Every Friday                                  1:00PM-4:00PM

Cost: Free with zoo admission

 

Join us for our open play Fridays.  This is a great way to wrap up the school week with a quick visit with the animals and an afternoon of games, toys and puzzles. We'll provide the toys, you provide the monkeys.  Please note there will be no Monkey Business on Friday, April 23.

 

  

Milk and Cookies with the Easter Bunny

Friday, April 2 and Saturday, April 3               1:00PM and 3:00PM

Cost: Members: $6/person

Non-members: $9/person
Children under 1 FREE
   
Snack on milk and cookies as you visit with the Easter Bunny, then have your photo taken and jump on the train for a ride.  Zoo admission and a small gift for each child are included in program price. Participants must pre-register and pay in advance by calling the North Woods Gift Store at

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny 

Saturday, April 3                                                          9:00AM

Cost:  Members: $13/person

Non-members: $16/person

Children under 1 FREE

 

Join us for a hot breakfast buffet as we await the arrival of the Easter Bunny. A photo with the Easter Bunny, a small gift, a train ride and zoo admission are included in the program price.  Participants must pre-register and pay in advance by calling the North Woods Gift Store at (508) 991-4556 x 14 or visit www.bpzoo.org.

 

 

Scrapbooking Workshop

April 17                                    1-4PM

Cost: Zoo admission + $5/participant

  

Create a special zoo themed make-and-take for beginners or bring your own supplies for open scrapbooking.  Join us for an afternoon of scrapbooking. Participants of all experiences are welcome and are asked to bring their scrapbooking supplies and/or at least 5-10 pictures.  Participants are asked to pre-register by calling (508) 991-4556 x 18 or by visiting www.bpzoo.org.

 

 

Spring Fling Week

April 19-23

Cost: Free with zoo admission

 

Spring has sprung at the Buttonwood Park Zoo and we're celebrating all week long with a different entertainer and craft each day.  Crafts will be from noon-2PM. Please visit www.bpzoo.org for the entertainment schedule.  The Toe Jam Puppet Band will perform at 10:30AM and 12:30PM on Monday and Friday. Entertainment at 11:00AM will include Jody Scalise on Tuesday, Tony Baloney on Wednesday, and Vic and Sticks on Thursday.  Join us for a special celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day on Thursday, April 22. 

 

Spring on the Farm

Saturday, May 1                         1-4PM

Cost: Free with zoo admission

   

The sun is up, the soil is warm and it's time to get busy.  Plant seeds, visit the animals, and learn about life on the farm with crafts and activities.

 

 

Senior Safari Day

Tuesday, May 18                       11AM-3PM

Cost: Free admission for seniors (age 60+)  

 

Celebrate the Zoo's first Senior Day on May 18.  Information tables as well as activities including zoo keeper talks will be scheduled between 11AM and 3PM.  Seniors (ages 60+) will receive free admission to the Zoo from 10AM-4:30PM. Endangered Species Day

Friday, May 21                       All Day

Cost: Free with zoo admission

 

Join us for a self-lead stroll around the zoo to find out more about endangered and threatened species.

 

 

Bear Awareness Day

Saturday, May 22                     1-4PM

Cost: Free with zoo admission

 

Bears, bears everywhere!  Learn about our black bears and their relatives during Bear Awareness Day.  Go on a bear hunt to find all the bears at the zoo.  Create a bear craft to take home.  Fun for the whole family!

 

 

Military Service Appreciation Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday, May 29 - Monday, May 31

 

All active duty, retired and reserve military personnel and their dependants who show proof of service will be honored with free admission to the zoo during Memorial Day Weekend.

 

 

                  

The Buttonwood Park Zoological Society (BPZS), a private, non-profit organization, was founded in 1969 to support the Buttonwood Park Zoo (BPZ) so that the Zoo will be a significant contributor to the conservation of nature both at home and throughout the world.  
 
Buttonwood Park Zoo (BPZ) features over 250 animals and 30 exhibits, including elephants, bison, mountain lions, bears, eagles, seals, otters, and farm animals.  BPZ is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and has been called "one of the finest small zoos in the United States" by that organization.

It is open daily, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
