deer in the snowHappy New Year!

Make visiting the Zoo one of your New Year's Resolutions!

Top Reasons to Visit the Zoo During the Winter
1. Many of the animals enjoy the colder temperatures. You may catch an otter sledding on its belly or a Canada lynx stalking squirrels in the snow.
2. Winter can be a great time to photograph animals. Overcast days disburse the light and help eliminate harsh shadows. Dark animals (such as bison, deer and beaver) are highlighted against the snow.
3. Visit the Zoo for FREE by purchasing an annual Zoo membership!
4. Visit our new cougar cub!  Hint: Remember to look up in the trees!

Do you have a few minutes?  We'd like your help in creating the 3rd annual Shrink Your Footprint series for Spring 2010. For the past two years, the Buttonwood Park Zoo has worked with other local environmental groups to provide a free series of workshops to help you and your family reduce your carbon footprint. This year we will be changing the format to offer one half-day (3 - 4 hour) program with concurrent lectures and hands-on workshops.
