Buttonwood Park Zoo Announces Arrival of New Cougar Cub
 
New Bedford, MA- The Buttonwood Park Zoo is pleased to announce the arrival of a new cougar cub!  The male cub is now out on exhibit and ready for his debut!
 
Why not come visit our new baby this week and help another baby at the same time?  Anyone who visits the Zoo and brings a new baby product or gently used baby toy between Monday, December 28th and Thursday, December 31st will earn one free adult admission.  See the list of preferred items below.
 
The collected donations will be donated to Gifts to Give, a local non-profit.  Gifts to Give is a New Bedford-based organization that collects and sorts donations for disbursement to other local charities and families in need.  More more information on Gifts to Give, please visit www.giftstogive.org.
 
Preferred items:
�        Baby supplies: feeding, diapering, health and safety, toys, nursery furniture/decorations, bedding. All feeding and diapering supplies must be new and unused.
�        Baby Safety Equipment: infant and toddler car seats, pack 'n plays, swings, bouncy seats, safety gates, high chairs/booster seats, changing tables, cribs/toddler beds/mattresses, excersaucers, strollers. All equipment must be less than 5 years old (verify by inspecting manufacturer's date), in perfect working order, with manufacturer's instructions, and all hardware and attachments. Please package hardware and attachments in a ziplock bag and attach to equipment.
 

 

New Cougar Arrival at the Zoo

                 

The Buttonwood Park Zoological Society (BPZS), a private, non-profit organization, was founded in 1969 to support the Buttonwood Park Zoo (BPZ) so that the Zoo will be a significant contributor to the conservation of nature both at home and throughout the world.  
 
Buttonwood Park Zoo (BPZ) features over 250 animals and 30 exhibits, including elephants, bison, mountain lions, bears, eagles, seals, otters, and farm animals.  BPZ is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and has been called "one of the finest small zoos in the United States" by that organization.

It is open daily, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
