Thank You For Celebrating Our 5th Anniversary With Us!

EmpoweredPrincess Ayo Women International has been inspiring change in the Greater DC area for 5 years.  On October 30th we celebrated EWI style.  It was a multicultural evening that recognized cultural contributions of emerging artists and the immigrant and refugee community.  Princess Ayo (right) , EWI Artist, got the crowd moving with her Nigerian Storytelling,  Founder Marga Fripp shared the history of this life-changing organization,  the crowd was amazed by Casablanca Restaurant's very own belly-dancer, EWI Executive Director Leyla Strotkamp  honored EWI artists for their contributions and successes during 2007 and notable female entrepreneur Alicia Vicentini inspired us all by sharing her journey of taking a dream and making it a reality.

We thank our artists members, dedicated volunteers and community sponsors for allowing us to continue to make empowering changes within Greater DC.

We'd like to offer a special thanks to our event sponsors:

This first program - "Essence of Dance" -- features soloists Gesel Mason, Tehreema Mitha and Nejla Yatkin who come from quite distinct traditions.  Each artist will perform a longer work that she feels is the essence of what she does and who she is.
