Holiday Concert for Mind and Spirit

the Lyceum in Old Town Alexandria for an
extraordinary concert of Music from Around the
World featuring Russian-born musicians Svetlana
Nikonova, her talented children: Zackhar and
Varvara, as well as Vladimir Zakharevich and Andrey
Saveliev, members of the St. Petersburg Trio.

About Svetlana Nikonova and St. Petersburg Trio
Russian-born orchestra conductor and musician,
Svetlana Nikonova came to the United States in
2003 to work as the Artistic Director of the
Washington Balalaika Society Orchestra (WBS).
In 2005, she formed St. Petersburg Trio featuring
her husband, Vladimir, Svetlana and their friend
Andrey to promote Russian folk and classical music.
All group's members are graduates from the Rimsky-
Korsakov Conservatory, regarded as Russia's premier
university of music and they have performed
together in Germany, France, England, Austria,
Netherlands, and Finland.
Svetlana Nikonova is an artist member of the Empowered Women
International (EWI), a non profit organization
promoting the arts and creating economic
opportunities for immigrant and foreign-born women
artists and families.
