Screenplay Reading Series accepting submissions for 2009-2010
The New Hampshire Film & Television Office invites all writers to
submit New Hampshire-set, feature-length scripts for consideration in
the Screenplay Reading Series presented in partnership with Red River
Theatres in Concord, NH. The series will be accepting submissions
during the month of April 2009 for the next reading series that will
take place in October 2009, February 2010, and June 2010. Judges will
select three scripts, which will be assigned a director, cast from a
talented pool of NH actors, and stage-read in an evening event before a
live audience at Red River Theatres. Application, fee information, and

New documentary Shooting Beauty by George Kachadorian and Courtney Bent
The New Hampshire Film & Television Office has been in contact recently with New Hampshire filmmaker George
Kachadorian of Durham who, with the help of his photographer wife
Courtney Bent, has finished the new documentary Shooting Beauty.
George sent us an e-mail with information about the film and has allowed us to share

New Hampshire Film Festival opens call for entries, announces 2009 dates for 9th Annual Film Fest
The 9th Annual New Hampshire Film Festival, October 15-18, 2009 in downtown Portsmouth and the call for entries is now officially open. Films and screenplays are already pouring in, according to organizers. Submission deadlines for the Film Festival are as follows: Early Bird entries June 5; early entries close July 5; late entries close August 5; Without A Box entries online close Aug. 15.

Local documentary focuses on mitochondrial disease
Marc Dole, owner and founder of the award-winning Hatchling Studios--an
animation company based in Portsmouth, NH--is the father of four
teenage girls who have grown up with disabilities that stem from
mitochondrial disease, a chronic, genetic disorder that occurs when cell mitochondria fail to function properly. Marc's children
face challenges that include seizures, deafness, diabetes, immune
disorders and severe learning and developmental disabilities. Marc and
his family are currently in production of their documentary, Mito-Kids,
which is already proving to be an inspirational and relatable film
about a family adapting to their constantly changing challenges.

New England-based reality TV series, Iron Brides™, currently airing
Beginning March 26, 2009, the first 13 episodes of Iron Brides™ have been broadcast weekly on MyTV and carried on cable TV from New Hampshire's
Lakes Region, south to Cape Cod, MA. Part reality TV, part game show, and
part primer for brides-to-be, Iron Brides™ airs Thursday nights at
11 p.m. Season One's 13 episodes were filmed entirely in New
Hampshire, on 24 unique sets, 27 speakers/presenters and over 30 segments. The show taped in communities as diverse as Concord,
Hampton, Portsmouth, Suncook, Sugar Hill, and Nashua.

Including Samuel to air on New Hampshire Public Television three times in April
New Hampshire Public Television will broadcast New Hampshire filmmaker Dan Habib's documentary Including Samuel on April 19 at 9 p.m. and on April 22 and 24 at 10:30 p.m. NHPTV's public affairs series, NH Outlook, is producing a special half-hour program on Including Samuel which will air after each broadcast of the film.

Mastering Film Scheduling and Budgeting workshop scheduled for May 1-3 in Tilton, NH

process of scheduling and budgeting a screenplay to arrive at its

Hollis, NH-based One World Video is producing a multimedia project entitled "Visions of Healing," website, one-hour television special, and DVD program.
