LADIES CONGENIALITY CLUB (LCC)

The LCC, also known as the Ladies Congeniality Club is comprised of a charitable group of young ladies that give back to those in need throughout Jacksonville. Last year, our activities included--providing gifts for a needy family over the holidays; we hosted a holiday dance; we sponsored the Beauty Queen Box Project, which collects beauty products as well as toiletries for battered women residing at the Hubbard House, and many other charitable acts, too many to mention. This year, we will not start formally meeting until December. We will have our first meeting on Thursday, December 8th. We will convene once a month, thereafter. For any interested applicants, we will have open enrollment in January. Please consider joining our club, you know the saying--the more the merrier!

FORGOTTEN PROJECTS/HOMEWORK, INSTRUMENTS

Just a reminder, the Front Office will not accept and deliver forgotten homework, PE uniforms, band instruments, school supplies or projects.  Students are responsible for bringing these items to school.  This information is also in the front of their planners.

The only exception to this policy is student lunch or lunch money.  Please make sure to clearly mark the student's name and grade on these items.  The money will be taken to the cafeteria and deposited in their lunch account.

We appreciate your help and understanding.

LOST AND FOUND

Our Lost and Found is already building up with notebooks, lunch boxes, and clothing.  We clear out Lost and Found once a month and donate items to a local charity so be sure your student looks for lost items in a timely manner.

BOOK DRIVE RESULTS

A HUGE thank you to all our families and students that contributed to our book drive.  Mr. Upchurch's class won, collecting the most books, with Mrs. Wilson's class coming second and Mrs. Williams' class taking third.

We will ALWAYS accept more donations...one can never have too many books!

Healthy Initiatives

We had a very successful first Fresh Fruit Friday of our school year 9/23 for C lunch period. It went great! The kids chowed down on delicious fruit from Motzovits Produce. We were also able to provide some fruit for the staff room. Information was provided about the benefits of consuming fresh produce along with the fruit. It was educational and tasty.

If you are interested in helping with future Fresh Fruit Fridays or would like to be involved in some way with this year's Fun Run, it is not too late to be on the Healthy Initiatives Committee! Please contact Jen Spires at  jenlee01@comcast.net  or Cathy Webb at  Cathy@catawebb.com
